Langkow & Bouwmeester

If the Flames were to package Langkow & Bouwmeester, what would you give up for them?

The Flames won't trade Bouwmeester. Regehr or Phaneuf I could see being moved by the deadline for some offense, but no GM trades a player the first year of a new long-term contract.

Most teams aren't going to take on a package of $11.18 million dollars in 2 players so not nearly as much as you think you should get.

What are you looking for? To shed salary? Players to help you make the playoffs? Draft picks? Prospects?

Just field an offer. Picks and prospects would be nice but out of interest, so would a salary for salary deal...

You'd never be able to move both of them in one deal, thats way too much of a cap hit going one way. Langkow would probably be harder to move, especially with the cap likely staying roughly the same, most teams are gonna be spending most of their dollars just re-signing their own players. I could see the Leafs possibly being interested as a stopgap until Kadri/Bozak develop, I don't know if they could offer very much though.

Not a single serious offer. Okay, how about either of these players not in a package deal. Someone must have interest in one of these players?

I can understand Langkow having negative value at this time, that's why I thought he could be included in a mega package deal. But Bouwmeester must have some value... Anyone?

J-Bo has 2 goals, 16 assists and is a plus 8 for which he is paid $6.5 million. He was traded for a 3rd round pick plus Leopold, who has 6 goals, 10 assists and is a minus 4 for which he is paid $1.75 million. J-Bo is doubtless the better player, but he is apid like a franchise D-man, which he is not.

Sorry...

Errr...

No interest at all in Langkow or Bouwmeester. Both over-priced. Bouwmeester is good, but not near $6.5 mil/year good.

Would the Panthers consider taking back Bouwmeester, signed long term, for Weiss and a 4th round draft pick?

If you want something thrown together that benefits both sides

To Washington:

Jay Bo, Langkow, Bourque

To Calgary:

Semin, Nylander

Langkow's contract is a killer, so if Sutter was insistant on including him in any Bouwmeester deal, Bourque and Nylander are there to sweeten the deal in Washington's favour.

Nylander is long gone. But hey, that's a great contract you're paying Bouw. $6.680m for 2 goals so far--genius, Sutter.

Oh, and besides "Lovesick Teenagers", that album sucks.

But for $6.680m?

Anyone interested in trading for a defenseman with a $6.680m cap hit who's scored 2 goals so far this year?

I mean, we've heard so much about Horcoff and how horrible his $5.5m cap hit is. How about this doozy?

Anyone? $6.680m defenseman who can skate and is good defensively--not physical at all (very soft), however. Any takers?

This is completely theoretical, so it's completely irrelevant that he just signed this year. Just looking for value.
