Team 990: Markov Calls out Price

According to Tony, there was an altercation after the Blues game :

Markov to Price: " IF you're not going to play with any heart, we don't need you, go home"

At which point half the room sided with Markov, and the other with Price.

ps: he's talking about it now on team990

EDIT:
Quote:
According to the TEAM990 radio in Montreal, Markov approached the goaltender after the 4-3 loss in overtime and told him "If you are not going to play with heart, stay home. We don't need you here."

Me either, he's probably the last player I could see being confrontational.

If it's true I imagine it more along the lines of Markov saying it in the russian accent with a little mangled english marinaro prolly just cleaned it up

Uhh.

I seriously find this hard to believe considering the amount of emotion Price showed in that game.

And if it is true, Markov is a complete ******

if this is at all true, i love how tony is stressing that half the team sided with markov and the other price. i wonder if the half that went to markov's side were sitting on the same side of the dressing room.

and tony: thanks for dropping price's value by publicizing what goes on privately in the locker room.

Boy if it's true, Markov has brass balls. I like it, futur captain, baby!. I still like Price, though.

Sounds like typical Montreal media BS.

Price had a rough start(not all his doing either) but he was strong the last 2 periods and OT. I can't see Markov calling anybody out in the room.

Okay seriously don't put word in his mouth...

Markov wanted to eat chinese, Price was sick of chinese food, so they had an argument that's it.

Mod close this thread please.

And I bet Gomez sided with Price because early in the season, Scott knifed Markov.

I'm glad half the team backed up Price, but if half the team feels otherwise, that's kind of bad news. I mean very bad news. You don't normally hear about these kinds of comments made about anyone. I call BS.

I find this very hard to believe, but if it is true, wow, Andrei Markov definitely isn't afraid to speak his mind for someone that's a private guy. But yeah, I still find this pretty hard to believe.

If you remember the 2007-2008 playoffs, Markov had a small tantrum on ice during a PP against the Flyers when he was waiting for the forwards (most notable the AKs) to move and make themselves available for passes. He was in the shadow of Kovy for a long time. So he is not that cool head Mr. Spock we can imagine sometimes.

Also - It's Price who (accidentally) put him on the Injury list for months. Not his fault but you can hold a grudge at times.

That being said, Marinaro is an expert at stirring shtrouble based on imaginary rumors and info. His credibility is minimal (despite a group of fanboys he has he here on HF).

I think the hard working stars of the team (Gionta, Cammaleri, Gomez, Markov, maybe even Gill and Plekanec) got tired of losing games because of the "rest of the team" that are floaters (in their opinion). My guess is that they talked to Bob or JM and as a result, no more Laraque, D'Ags and Pac. Also, during the Jersey game, JM Played with only three lines.

I agree, I don't think Markov is the passive guy people make him out to be but still. I doubt there was a fight like Marinaro is making it.
