Not to interfere in your guys forum but the Kings are technically in sixth behind colorado because the Avs have play one less game then the Kings.

.603 point percentage over the rest of the season gets us there, by the way. So yes, very real(ity) possibility.

.552 is the point percentage for the 97 mark which is the guaranteed playoff spot. At which point it's not actually guaranteed in as much as there are a few ways the season can play out that end up in us not getting in but they include >.900 point percentages for teams lower than us which just isn't going to happen

A .500 win percentage over the rest of the season gives us 94 points which will probably get us into the playoffs. Not guaranteed but rather close to being so.

Just to put things in perspective

(We currently have a .613 point percentage which will probably land us 4th or 5th if we keep it up (closest possible percentages are .603 and .621 which give us 100 and 101 pts respectively.))

For those who are curious. We are 6th, Avs have a point and game at hand and Phx has 2 points but are a game ahead of us. If we win our next game we move into 4 or 5th (depending on the Avs) and move ahead of Phx as we will have more wins.

12 games over .500 is a new high for us BTW. We've been 11 over .500 a couple times... never 12. Good times.

Seriously every game that I watch Simmonds play I feel like he does more and more. This guys potential just keeps rising. Forget a great 3rd line forward, Night Train is seriously becoming a legit top 6 for us and who knows how much better he will keep getting with age and a few extra pounds.

Also, they put our names in some raffle. Since like only two other people bought calendars, I won a puck signed by Smyth and my buddy won two PR level tickets to the game on Thursday against the Ducks.

So for $20 total that's:

2 ice girl calendars
4 tickets to feb 11 ($29.50 face value each)
2 tickets to Feb 4 ($125 face each)
A Smyth signed puck

Not a bad deal!

Oh, and the game was great too
Isn't the Feb 11th game Simmonds bobble head nite?? Thus increasing your value more!!!

Quick is a special goaltender.

Anyone else find it surreal that we have such a fantastic goalie in the NHL, as well as the best goalie in the AHL?

For what it's worth, my 2 year old daughter can now clearly express the following during Kings games..."Go Kings Go!"

I am very proud.
You'll be even more proud when she learns to say "Tur-co sucks"!

Kings Beat Blue Jackets 4-1, playoff odds up 2.4 to 95.2%
65 points - 31-19-3

http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/W...fic/Kings.html

Most of the other games tonight were a negligible impact for the Kings.

If the Kings beat Boston, their playoff odds will increase to 96.8%. If they lose - 93.3%. An OTL will barely affect the Kings at all.
Better start saving up.
