How exactly did he get injured? Was it officially caused by a rut on the ice?

Kurt Sauer's return would be of great relief.
Looks like Boedker is the man for now.

Yeah if you watch the clip of when it happened he skated then hit a rut and went down, no one touched or hit him just a bad break

& according to the Coyotes staff I talked with this afternoon at the job, it is in deed a major tear. I have some concerns about recovery, when you operate on a knee (First hand from my surgery last March) you knee is never the same, and when you have a speed guy like Uppy, it's even more critical for that knee to be as close to 100%. It might scrub off some of his top end speed. But I just hope he is ready come training camp.

This sucks. This reminds me of when Tanabe went down when he was showing all his potential. I'm concerned about how this will affect his play.

I actually think its been hurt pretty bad for a while. There's been a few times over the last several games where he went down and looked to have really hurt his knee, his skating hasn't seemed the same the last little bit to me either. If its just his acl I'm not too concerned, its the laterals that really hurt long term for hockey I think. They say acl surgery now usually makes the knee at least as strong as it was originally.
