there is no contact there. and that puck is moving fast. much faster than hartnell. it wouldve been in the net before he made contact.

They keep saying that Hartnell hit Roloson after the puck was in. This is indeed true. He knocked him over after the goal. But you still cannot be on top of a goalie inside the crease when the puck is being shot, hindering the goalie's ability to move his limbs to make a save. This pic proves that Hartnell was on top of Roloson in the crease as the puck was heading toward him. If Roloson had been able to raise his arm, maybe he would have made the save. Maybe he wouldn't. The point is that he didn't have the chance because Hartnell was there, in the crease.
Take Hartnell out of the equation and thats still a goal. Roloson was way out of position on the shot, this pic proves it even more.

Roloson couldn't close his five hole because Hartnell was to his left?

What's awesome is that the still frame you used was from the Flyers feed.

there is none. the only part of hartnell that could be touching rolo is his glove. but seeing as how rolo is butterflied, and even if he were standing thered barely be contact if any at all...yeah. none.

Keep in mind that goalie interference isn't necessarily making contact. If you are inhibiting the goalie from making the save, it can be called. My question is that I'm pretty damn sure a ref has to make that call whereas I think this call was made from Toronto.

Also, Crosby did the exact same thing against Biron in the POs last year and wasn't called for it, but that's no surprise.

Yeah, good point by JJ. Fine, goalie interference...where is the rough for jumping Hartnell after the whistle?

So, basically Hartnell got jumped twice in that period, and the Isles got a PP both times.

The goalie is entitled to his crease. I agree, the puck PROBABLY goes in anyway because yes the puck is traveling fast. But Roloson's ability to attempt a glove save there was hindered before the puck was in the net. It's not just about contact, it is about entitlement (I know it sounds stupid, but it is the rule).

it is a disgrace, the officiating. He will get another call against him imo no doubt. Deserved or not will TBD.

The refs actually called something in favor of a guy like Carcillo? Wow. I am amazed. That looked like it should have been a fiver, so I guess we got screwed over a little still...

True, haha, but what I mean is they aren't focusing on it, or showing slo motion at all to try and see what actually happened. They basically just look at when they saw Roloson get hit hard, and judge by that, instead of judging by what actually may have hindered the save attempt. Luckily I can pause on TiVo.

Isles announcer (paraphrase)- "Carcillo's usually the one delivering those kinds of hits"

Did he get him confused with Hollweg, maybe?
