Value of upshall to ottawa (in the offseason)

According to reports the senators have had interest in upshall so what would it take for them to get him? (barring offer sheet)

Michalek > Upshall. I would say Upshall + 2nd and wouldnt even think twice about it. Having both Michalek's would be amazing.

Upshall fits Tippets system to the T. So I guarentee the Don maloney will do everything in his power to lock Uppy up long term this off season if ice edge is in control. I can see long term contracts for Michalek, Upshall, Lombardi. decent length contracts for aucion, and give an extension to Bryz.

Doubt Aucoin gets a contract. Uppy and Lombi will probably get 2 years max. Michalek will get like 5 years hopefully. Bryz the same....as for Michalek, I want both of them lol. Your probably right GMDM wants to keep Upshall, who would you trade to OTT for Milan?

It's not going to happen. Upshall is clearly working here. It's never a good idea to mess with that. Look what happened to Anson Carter when he left Vancouver. Look what happened to Radim Vrbata when he left Phoenix. When you finally figure things out in a place, you stay there. Leaving is always a mistake. Upshall and Lombardi were made to play together. Phoenix is not going to break that up.

To make this as simple as possible for you, I'll say if you want Upshall, it's gonna cost you Fisher. In other words, neither team will be negotiating a trade. If Fisher goes anywhere, it'll be when he reaches UFA status and he will sign in nashville.

I do see Aucoin getting resigned. Uppy and Lombi I think will get 3-4, and I believe your right on the Michalek/Bryz fronts. But when we come to the OTT situation I believe at this junction Upshall is better the Milan. However I would love to have him but I would rather see us go sign a Patrick Marleau in the off season rather then trade away someone that can make a difference. But if I were forced to but a package toegther I would probably do maybe Kevin Porter, and one of our firsts for him. Dont know if OTT values Porter or not but whatever.

Porter is a 2 way player who was a great scorer in the NCAA, Hobey Baker winner, and Tippett seems to believe will fit this system well and grow into a great player for the Coyotes. I doubt he is traded unless we get significant returns on the trade.

To be I think Michalek is that Significant return you are talking of.

But if Tippett is holding him to that high of regard, i don't know that Maloney trades him even for Michalek. As much as I'd love to see Milan join his brother on our team. He'd be that scorer we need. Too bad Ottawa's right in the thick of the Eastern Conference this year....

I don't really think one deserves more than the other. Maybe offer them both three years and ten million?

Are we talking years here or dollars? Cause I don't see Lombardi getting 3 mill. Maybe 2.5. I mean Reinprecht doesn't even get anything close to 3.

Upshall is a different story. I could see a 3 this summer, but that depends on how the season goes for him and the team.

Euh, no way the sens would trade Fisher for Upshall. Fisher has been struggling a bit, but he'll get back. Overall though, the sens turn down that offer

Upshall isn't going anywhere, so it's all moot.

I usually agree with you on most things, but I'm going to have to disagree here, Upshall is at least at the same level as him

No. Just no.

Before this season, I would have agreed with you. I really like Fisher. He plays a really good game. Upshall has found his stride here in Phoenix though and there is no way I would trade Upshall for Fisher.

To be honest Upshall is having a career year. He could revert going back to taking stupid penalties in his years with other teams. He could easily do that considering he is coming back next year. Thats why I'm kinda against resigning him for a long amount of time. Year by year I think with him....he's hitting his stride this year and I'm happy for him. As for Fisher, he's having a down year. But to ask who is more consistent, I'd say Fisher. Bottom line is, they arent getting traded and especially not for each other.
