January Predictions

Jan 3, 2010 BUFFALO MONTREAL 1-0 L
Jan 5, 2010 MONTREAL WASHINGTON 2-4 L
Jan 7, 2010 FLORIDA MONTREAL
Jan 9, 2010 NEW JERSEY MONTREAL
Jan 14, 2010 DALLAS MONTREAL
Jan 16, 2010 OTTAWA MONTREAL
Jan 17, 2010 MONTREAL NY RANGERS
Jan 20, 2010 ST LOUIS MONTREAL
Jan 22, 2010 MONTREAL NEW JERSEY
Jan 23, 2010 NY RANGERS MONTREAL
Jan 26, 2010 MONTREAL FLORIDA
Jan 27, 2010 MONTREAL TAMPA BAY
Jan 30, 2010 MONTREAL OTTAWA

Started out poorly but I think the habs will pick it up, especially again at the end of the month the teams get weaker.

I think the Habs will end up just above .500 with a record of 7-6-0

We wont touch NJ as usual and I think we will split the games against the Rangers or take them both, we always fair well against them. I never like playing Dallas but now that Belfour is gone Florida isn't our bane anymore. Ottawa will probably be a split aswell.

Yeah, and you can be assured that Mr. Halak will be gifted with each and every one of these upcoming cream-puff games. Heck, I'm sure by facing low percentage shooters from now to the end of the season, Halak's save percentage is going straight to #1 in the NHL.

Unbelievable, the way Martin's running this dog 'n' pony show.

I dont care who we play I just wanna see the habs grow and evolve into a better team and just stay consistant. If they wanna win more games they need to keep their energy level to a maximum during a whole 60 minutes

I predict Spacek will finally hit the net with one of his erratic shots at some point in the month..

On a more serious note, I could see Subban being called up at some point during the month and Im pretty sure it will be very hard to send him back to Hamilton since I think the kid can have an immediate impact on the team, making us better...

Yeah damn those creampuff teams and their 40-shot-a-game attitude.

We win vs the non-playoff teams and lose vs the playoff teams... with a few exceptions on repeat match-ups...
5-8, slightly out of the playoffs as the olympic break gets closer.

Halak wins all those games. Can't say the same about Price. He has lost games against those "cream-puff" teams.

Yes those teams who shoot and score a lot like the Thrashers and the Leafs but you of course automatically think that its' more difficult to play the Devils because they are 1st in the East.

This is not european soccer or american basketball ...this is salary cap nhl world. On any given day, any team can beat any team.

For some reason... I don't have a good feeling about this month.

I hope that I'm wrong, but... we tend to play terrible against Jersey, Ottawa, and Western Conference teams, and that's six of our games here.

Well, I guess that just makes our games against Florida, Tampa and the Rangers even more important than they already are...

How many times has montreal beaten NJ in the last 5 years? I would say it is more difficult wouldnt you? The leafs dont count because even if they are ****** or we are ****** the games are always decent. Unless Halak really ***** the bed against florida he should get a good team to go against in NJ.

Tough month ahead for sure, and starting with the two losses wasn't the way to go...but, I am going to say at this point with just 11 of those games left we will get 15 points out of it....

they have some important games against teams they are fighting with for playoff spot, and these will be the most important games to win! they need to show up ready to fight, and play hard in these important games.

they had a good trip to close out the month of december and then came back pretty tired. hopefully now that they have some players back they can get thier game together and pick up some wins!

Obviously they are harder to beat since they only lost 10 or so games this year. I didn't mean it like that.

I meant as a goalie, would you prefer facing the Thrashers, Leafs or the Devils. Me , personally, I would prefer facing the Devils because it's likely I will face less shots and give up less goals compared to the Thrashers or Leafs who might score 3+ goals against me and play a more aggresive offensive forechecking game.

I thought this team would be stronger at the end of the month, losing to Florida and Tampa is really inexcusable.
