Lol. Just because someone sounds smart on a TV show doesn't mean he's competent enough to be a NHL GM.

With so many teams in the hunt this year, being a seller might be smart as we could benefit from some gross overpayments that might happen.

What we have that other teams might be interested in is a different stoy.

I'll be pissed if the Habs aren't sellers

Hammer/Markov/ Pleks/ Halak all would be really good acquistions and metro Mara could be good glue pieces for other teams

so what qualities do u need to be a good GM? I guess putting out smart ideas isnt one of them? Is signing a 35 yr old dman to a 3 yr deal a good GM move?

Why is Olivier Fortier in the game notes? He has never played in the NHL...has he even ever played in Hamilton???

D'Ago, isn't he on a conditioning assignment???

Who writes this stuff???

I think he was injured during the exhibition games where he was technically on Montreal's roster?

McGuire has alot of contacts all around the league though. He knows about up and comming prospects in almost all teams farm systems. He was critical of our d signings in the offseason and hey he was right. He also knows the molsons quite well so he will definitely be a candidate. He would be my pick.

The fact of the matter which is perfectly clear to all is that the habs cannot score Five on Five.... it was the reason for the loss today along with the fact it was a pretty crappy effort by Markov on Fisher.....Markov played great on the PP but was anything but spectacular in the rest of the facets of the game.... Every point helps but they have to find a way to score five on five and need another win streak before the Olympic break

We should entertain trading Markov before his stock falls, IMO his skating has deteriorated tremendously since his injury...

I really hope he can rectify that with strength training and conditioning this summer, although that's usually impossible at that age.

Markov for Toronto's first!

Is this a sick ****ing joke?

Where does these Trade Markov posts come from?

Is this because of the Price incident?

If that's the case,....I'll refrain myself from going bananas, but, let's just say, very stoically, it has to stop, please...

Come on...

Markov was never a fast skater, never, it's his mobility that sets him apart... and he's still very mobile.

He's just making bad decisions, because he wants to push it more... he obviously doesn't fit with Martin's system.

BTW, Markov is untouchable, it would be the greatest mistake to trade him...

Don't let the loss get to your head.

How can you ever blame Bergeron when, as bad as he is defensively, he plays at the forward position for the last games even if he sucked there more and then is put back on D in a crucial moment....

I would move everyione on that list but not Markov.

Gill could also help a serious contender like he did last year with Pittsburgh. With limited minutes and his play on the PK Gill is a effective player.

Problem in Montreal is that Martin thinks he's Bobby Orr, playing him 4 on 4!

Move

Gill for a late round pick
Mara for a late round pick
Hamrlik for a prospect and a 3rd round pick
Metropolit for a late round pick
Halak you keep unless the return is significant true top 3 d-man or top 6 forward
Plekanec - Young solid prospect and a pick
Spacek for a 4th rounder

If Cammy is gone, then yes, it is indeed over. What a horrible horrible season mired by injuries. Until today I was still confident we'd make it.
Cammy out = not a chance.
What is WITH the luck when it comes to injuries. I know it was only a matter of time for him with everybody else going out, but seriously,

Gomez, Gionta, Markov, OB, AK, Sergei, Spacek/Hammer been playing injured all season and now this... I think we all know who's next.

I have heard a lot of boneheaded ideas on this site but that one takes the cake!

Let`s trade our best player for $0.50 on the dollar because he`s not fully recovered from an injury that`s he`s still supposed to be out with.

With what we might be about to learn as far as Cammy is concerned, I hope not.

A blow for them, the kid was really impressive lately.

FTR, Gionta scored the tying goal. He was our Kovy replacement. Since we are not trying to catch up to Ottawa, whatever, good for Kovy but ffs, Volchenkov putting his weight into a smurf! Not the first time I've seen that with him. The next time we meet, there will not be our top scorer...ergo...not going to be a good game.
