Speaking of which, how does everyone think he played last night?

Obviously we're reserving judgement for a longer stint, but I think he looked pretty good next to Timonen. He was pinching at the right moments and didn't really get the puck trapped.

He was absolutely solid last night. Calgary may be a little dysfunctional right now, but that was one of the best defensive efforts I've seen from the Flyers in quite some time. Very impressed with the small sample size.

The way he plays compliments Lavi's style. At some moments, he was out of position, but being honest he looked a hell of alot better then Coburn was when he was next to Timonen. He also has a hard as hell shot. I wouldnt be surprised if he played like that the rest of the season, he would get points and he would get an extension. Plus he is cheap as hell.

Also, whoever on the Lightening said that he doesnt clear the net was lieing. Unless he decided to just do it this game, everytime there was a guy in front of Emery, he would be right on his back shoving him out.

I think he will fit with Lavi's style.

His positioning was a bit weird at times. He would go over on the same side of the ice as his partner and stuff, but nothing bad came of it

I just keep being freaked out by a #2 on the ice that could actually skate.

I thought he played very well. Especially since he hadn't skated in 3 days and hasn't played in the NHL in awhile.

How MUCH did we sign him for?

Can he be a decent replacement for Coburn? Ship Coburn out and let him get a raise elsewhere and hope Krajicek signs cheap and plays well? Playing with Timonen helps big time, but if he is cheap I would keep him around.

Pronger-Carle
Timonen-Krajicek
Parent-Bartulis

next season?

Maybe play Krajucek on the 3rd pairing if Parent ever heals and we can move him to play with Timonen (worried Parent will always be a problem)

(I am posing a question and discussion topic, not making a statement, I have my doubts to be honest)

I'd rather just keep Kraijcek and Coburn. Bartulis isn't very good as a long term option.

He is young, he has time to improve.

Coburn's not locked into a near minimum contract though. I'd prefer to keep both and Krajicek (if he's not asking too much), but Bartulis is definitely worth that cap hit.

Bartulis will be fine as a 7th for next year, I'm not saying ship him off. Coburn is 2 years older than Bart.
As long as Coburn doesnt ask for too much money I see no point in replacing him with Bartulis.

Some of you are so quick to overrate unexpected players. "Laliberte could contend for Calder." I am a huge Bartulis fan, and have been hoping he would make the team for awhile, but I would not be confident with him and Krajcek as regular top 6 D men.

What happens then if we have injuries? I doubt Syvret will stay around.

We should have:
Pronger-Carle
Timonen-Parent
Coburn-Kraijcek
Bartulis

assuming nothing major happens

But then you go back to Parent. Isnt that overrating him too? The kid cant stay healthy for more then a few games, and even when he does, he hasnt looked that good this year.

You really think Bart is better than Parent? Parent is our only D besides Pronger who can win a board battle, and is a great penalty killer. I would bet that our PK% is higher with him in the lineup than without. Carle is awful on the PK.

Parent will never have any offense, but he is a good hard working d man with some size. Hopefully he gets his injuries under control.

Nope. Justing saying that if he cant control his injury problems (which at 22 is terrible), I wouldnt be hoping be plays next to Kimo.

Well one of him or Coburn will. Order of d men doesnt matter,my point is who are the top 6. Kraijcek is there with Kimmo for now, but I think they will run into size problems eventually.

Kraicjek-Parent would be a good 3rd pairing I think

Krajicek is pretty big. 6'3 205
Parent is 6'3 198
Coburn is 6'5 220

This is all if Krajicek doesnt start sucking and continues to do well. We dont know bout that one.

He keeps playing like that, and we stay healthy...OKT isn't going to be seeing the ice much.

The weight estimate seems high. I've seen Krajicek listed as 6'2", 195 lbs. The 6'2"-6'3" figure sounds right. The 205 lbs. sounds high to me. He is a tall guy, kinda lanky. He seems smaller because he isn't physical at all.

Also, Parent is jacked and definitely weighs more than 195 lately

What do you guys think of getting Nick Boynton, he's on waivers from the Ducks right now. He's a solid 5th or 6th D-man from what I heard.

No thanks, he's just another OKT. Plus he cleared waivers today.
