Last I heard Sunny said he is ready to play.

As for Quintal, I honestly don't want him back in the lineup. What is going to happen when he gets healthy? Komi was one of our best defenseman in Game 7, so who sits? the Cube?

I think Sundstrom will be a key player this series, i'd like to have him matched up vs. St-Louis

Thanks VAN-HAB. Im a little disapointed Ward wont be ready, but im extrememly happy Sunny's coming backing. His speed and defensive play could not have been welcomed at a better time. Im sure Ward will be back for game 2. As for Quintal, hope he becomes our 7th D now that Komo has shown more stability in our own end. Not to mention, his bruising work with the opposing forwards.

Bulis-Dowd-Sundstrom vs. Modin-Richards-St Louis
Bégin-Juneau-Ward vs. Stillman-Lecavalier-Fedotenko

Hopefully Ward will be back soon!

I like that match-up, except get Begin on Vinny, not Juneau imo!

Hope Komi isn't sacrificed for Q. Q looked slow against some of the Bruins lumbering forwards. How do you think he will look against the speedy Bolts?

I too think Sundstrom will be a key part for the Habs. He brings a offensive element to the checking line. I would not count on him however to shut down Martin St-Louis. That will be a team thing.

Not enough can be said about Jason Ward's contribution to the team.

A healthy Ward will bring us that much more closer to winning the 2nd round.

Couldn't happen. You'd be sacrificing the icetime of a scoring line. Koivu will play against a scoring line. Bowman used to double shift his scoring lines if an opponenet used a shadow line. Your scorers can't score from the bench.

I would have to think that Komi has passed Q and probably the Cube on the depth chart. In game 7 against the booins, Komi played almost 19 minutes while Bouillon was under 14. The only concern would be Komi's ability to react against the quick TB forwards, but he seemed to handle things fine against the B's. Besides, he can't be any slower than Quintal yet he provides much more of a physical presence.

Good to hear Sunny will be back. Hopefully Ward is back soon and we can get them both in the lineup. I don't think Langdon will be needed alot in this series.

I think we should not look at it that way. The way it should be looked at is:

The D as it stands is working find. Q will wait in the wings, train hard, motivate his teamates and be ready if some circumstance happens.

When called upon, should he contribute to the team's success, nobody on this board will complain.

It happens that Komi is performing well. Good for us. Does this fact make the Q useless. NO.

I don't think we'll have line 3 and 4 match against TB's lines 1-2, at least idealy. My guess would be there will be one main checking line (Bulis - Dowd - Ward) to play against the way too dangerous Modin - Richards - St. Louis line and we'll likely see our very own top line go against Vinny's line (at least that's what I'd like to see) since they're not that effective right now since Lecavalier's in a slump. Then whenever you can, try to send Ribeiro's line against their 4th to get them going offensively.

The only thing that matters to me is to not have any other line against the Richards' line other than Koivu's one or our main checkers. If we cannot acheive this, we'll get eaten alive. This is a better line than the Samsonov - Nylander - Bergeron line (although somwhat similar) so we have to show respect and take the careful approach.
