Mayers is a scrub. Stajan, Hagman, and White are all every good players.

I love the Anaheim deal for Toronto. Giggy should stabilize the goaltending, and Blake is off the cap.

Scrubs? Stajan has 41 points so far :\, Hagman 33, White 26 as a defenseman... It's massive overpayment for Phaneuf who can't seem to play defense anymore.

Honestly I really dont think this kills Calgary at all.

They have two rock solid defencemen in Bouwmeester an Regehr already.

They add White who is pretty solid. Hagman is pretty good. And Stajan is alright as well.

They lost a guy whos overpaid, overrated to a certain extent, and I have no reason beleive he was a ****in dumb post in the dressing room as well.

It's not bad
Forwards have taken a serious beating. Blake was overpaid, no doubt but adding Guigere and Phaneuf to the backend has just made their challenges up front look insurmountable.

It's basically Kessel and Grabovski up front and Bozak, Stahlberg and possibly Kadri as other guys in the mix. Ponikarovski and Stempniak will need raises.

Even if Burke manages to keep all the guys he has already in the fold, their offense will still suck. I'm thinking Kaberle needs to be dealt for some better talent.

So moving forward the Leafs look like this

Kessell, Grabovski

Kaberle - Phaneuf
Komisarek - Beauchemin
Schenn - Gunnersson

Giguere
Gustavsson

That is about 35 million dollars with those players. Giguere an expiring deal next season.

Gives the Leafs like 20 million dollars this summer to fill in the forwards, of course players like Kadri, Kulemen, Stahlberg and Bozak will eat some of that money.

also, according to james mirtle's twitter:
"Leafs gain $2-million in cap relief in Anaheim deal, but take on additional $2-million in salary for next season"

This to me seems like a GM trading for names to please Leaf nation.

I dont see how this makes them a better team next year. Or in the future.

We'll see how they do in Calgary - I doubt their ice time will remain the same. White is OK but I wouldn't give a set of used shoes for the rest.

I can't believe Calgary couldn't have gotten more. Puff-n-stuff has name value...you should be able to get a legit 2nd line player + a prospect for Puffy
