Why do I get the feeling that those booing Meszaros were the same ones who booed Kubina night in night out from 2001 on.

What does this team need to do at the trade deadline?

I think they need to find a way to get some secondary scoring. Or just get freakin Vinny to score some goals.

I know the obvious thing is to trade Tanguay, but would that piss Vinny off the way the Prospal trade did? Either way, we're gonna need Vinny to start scoring to be able to stay in the playoff hunt.

I love this - trading Tanguay does what, exactly, for us?

I agree with this, his points must be replaced somehow. We do not have offensive depth so someone can step up and make it happen.

If we aquire, let us say a 2nd for him, shall we then use the pick to get a replacement? If we would be trailing at the bottom it would make sense to deal him for a pick but as the team fights for playoffs it seems like an odd thing to do. Yes he just have an one year deal with us but reaching playoffs is far more important than some second round pick.

There are business reasons for reaching the playoffs, try to bring some people back, get some cash of course etc but also for our stars, so they can see we make progress, that's not to be underrated.

Right, but is anyone stupid enough to give us a second for him?

i think the 2 main things are secondary scoring and a puck moving dman. our defense doesnt get involved in the action as much as it should, maybe thats by the coaches design though.

Oh yeah its gonna impossible to find somebody who can score more than 9 goals in 60 freakin games. On top of that, he's helped Lecavalier to score so many goals hasnt he (even though Vinnys got his own issues). Jeff freakin Halpern, who has little to no offensive ability, has 9 goals.

Are you trying to tell me that not having Tanguay in the lineup is gonna keep us from making the playoffs? Yeah right...how many games has he won for us? This team is a one line team just like it was 3 years ago. The only thing thats gonna change that is if we get someone that helps Vinny score goals. Tanguay hasnt been able to do that through 60 games so why not try to find someone who could. (Again, I know Vinnys got his own issues but we're stuck with him and we mise well try to find someone to make him tick).

And whose to say he has to be traded by himself. He can be part of a package.

So..we trade away Tanguay for picks that we use for his replacement? (or trade him for a player straight away) That doesn't make sense, we should keep the chemistry and the chances we get something better are slim without us having to add more in such a trade.

I didnt say anything about trading him for a 2nd. Where the hell did you get that from? If anything, he would most likely have to be part of a package. And I dont know whose available to trade for or what it would take. Im not the GM.

So really, you're calling me an idiot for saying we're not going to be able to trade him for someone who can immediately step into the top six and produce. Got it.

...and i'm the idiot.

Jesus Christ, you must be *** retarded...how many times do I have to say that he could be part of a package that brings back someone. Im sure he still has value to a team, just him alone wont have enough value to get back what we need.

Right, so you **** with the chemistry of the team to try to pull in ONE guy who we think MIGHT help us make a push for the playoffs. You give up picks (which we're already short a second this year) and a thin forward prospect pool for... who exactly? Because you're only going to find 3rd liners right now or pending UFAs, and in the latter case, is it worth it to gamble part of the farm for a guy that'll probably walk?

Any of this making sense, or should we go back to making proposals for Phaneuf?

PS..[MOD:edit]
