PGT: Team Of Destiny V. Devils

Destiny.

Nuff said.

For now.

Quick write up. Scribe will add to it later.

This isn't really the post game.

I'm going to leave that to Bobby a little later, because I know he's going to be dying to write it.

For now, it is enough to say that the Kings, having just completed their first PERFECT 5 game road trip in team history, yes, as in, ever, are truly a team on the cusp of greatness.
Post game is up: http://lakingsnews.com/2010/01/31/ki...er-the-devils/

Quote:
The Devils are a talented group of players and for all the accolades showered upon our Kings by the exceptional Devils’ announcer Mike “Doc” Emrick and raspy voiced color man Chico Resche, we offer the same in return with sincerity.

The first period saw both teams generate chances with one exception – New Jersey kept their shots on goal and the Kings kept shooting wide. Apart from that, the Kings skated with New Jersey in every stride. The Devils got on board first with a beautiful cross ice pass from Zach Parise to the always fun to say Johnny Oduya. Oduya’s goal was fortuitous as it pinballed off Jack Johnson’s skate, rapidly changed direction, deflected off the inside of Quick’s right pad and ricocheted into the net. A questionable penalty call on Matt Greene against a net crashing Rob Niedermayer (who is living proof that the jersey can, in some cases, make or break a look as Rob looks imminently less inept and hate worthy without the CalTrans colors) gave the Devils’ a man advantage. The penalty call was apparently for “falling” as that is exactly what Niedermeyer did without any assistance from Greene. The Devils were a menace on the ensuing powerplay but the Kings’ stingy defense and Quick’s reflexes kept the deficit at one.

Kings v. Devils New Franchise Record: POSTGAME THOUGHTS & TIDBITS

Quote:
Should the Kings come away with a win, they would have their first 5-0 road trip in franchise history, their first six-game winning streak since March 11-23, 2002, and they would also push their road winning streak to seven games. The franchise record is eight games, set from Dec. 18, 1974-Jan. 16, 1975. So yeah, it would be a pretty big win, Terry Murray said this morning.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! All you weenies crying about it being over repent. The Kings are going all the way! GO KINGS GO!

Anyone still think Ron Wilson isn't paying extreme attention to Quick's play recently and just plans on keeping this MONSTER in the press box?

Devils now 17-1-0 when leading after 1 and 24-1-0 when leading after 2.

Kings and Sabres the only teams perfect when leading after 2 periods.

Quick was the man after the Devils second goal. That glove save was amazing and he saw it all the way!

Kings now have 6 wins when trailer after 2, tied for the league lead.

So glad to see LA continue to rack up the wins! Keep it up! It'll be good to see them in the playoffs again.
