I for one, am happy to see Prust in a Ranger uniform. Having Center Ice the last few years...I've gotten to watch a lot of Calagry games. I've always took notice of Prust for his hard-nosed play and willingness drop the gloves. Prust is a legitimate hard-as-nails middle-weight. The guy can throw with the best of them. He has fought NHL heavyweights and you could say he more than held his own.. Voros is willing...but he's a human punching bag. Prust is willing and able, and rarely loses. If he does lose a fight...he looks good doing it. He has a lethal upper-cut that has bloodied a few guys. Prust may very well end up being a fan favorite. NYR fans tend to gravitate to gritty, in your face players (i.e. AVERY). A very good portion of Calgary's fan-base are sad to see him go.
"i was hoping i could stay here for the rest of my career, but this is brutal business"
"this is slap in the face to get traded"
"going back to eastern conference, very excited, playing for original 6 team, and play with one of better players in the league, gaborik"
Not if he costs us a top pick for yet another awful first round playoff loss. Besides, it isn't the next few months that I'm worried about. It's the potential of the next few years that scares me.
That's about the only way it could be worse. Gomez and Jokinen have been #1 and #2 on my most overrated list for years now.
I think you have to face it that with gaborik and lundqvist, its going to be hard to get a high first round pick. And as far as the next few years, Jokinen is a UFA at season's end clearing $5.5 million in cap space. As long as sather doesnt screw up with that money then its all good and well.
