Suglobov was the only "scoring winger" prospect we had when we badly needed scoring wingers. Hope clouded some peoples judgment.

According to Kypreos AND Maclean, the offer on the table is for 3 YOUNG ROSTER PLAYERS ONLY. No picks or prospects.

Now do any of you see three Devils being shipped out of the current roster?

Bergfors, Zharkov and Davis? In the last week Corrente and Palmieri were also with the Devils so they could have been included.

More then likely its LA though.

It's very common knowledge that Lou made an offer for Blake, and even more common knowledge that Lou offered to trade Gomez for Selanne in 2003 but the deal got nixed by Selanne's NTC. They may just be rumors, but they're rumors with substantial staying power and decent anecdotal evidence.

And you know this how? Unless you actually know him and he told you that, or you can link an article where he told a reporter that, you don't know that.

I don't know, I think he might enjoy having a reliable playoff berth on an annual contender.

Have you watched Kovalchuk play, his version of defense is sitting at the blueline, and waving his stick around.

Yeah, and do you know who's to blame for that? His coaches, for not being willing to hold him accountable.

If that's the case than I don't want him anyway, because he's not a player who's willing to do what's necessary to win. Especially when all that's necessary is backchecking.

But I think you're selling Kovalchuk short.

I'm not, I've watched him for years, and I would love to keep him here in Atlanta. But defense, well he doesn't do that.

He doesn't do it because he's never been made to do it. That's the thing about defense - all it really requires is an honest effort to do an an acceptable level.

If I had a guessed Oduya instead of Rolston as the salary dump, then I would have taken Afino out, replacing him with a cheap d-man from ATL. However, I would have guessed Schubert instead of Salmela. Overall though, I'm pretty happy with my spec.
