I'm rooting for the U.S., but if they get knocked out I think I might root for Sweden or Finland. Some of the extreme Canadian homers turned me off to team Canada.

edit: I have a question for you guys. Do you think the smaller ice will have a large impact on teams with fewer NHL players like Belarus, Switzerland, Germany, and Latvia?

Well done.

I'm hoping for good things for Team Canada this year, but there are more than a couple of teams that scare the living bejeezus out of me (Russia, Sweden, USA, Finland).

I do like that Canada has a good mix of veterans and young guys. I just dread hearing about TSN (The Sidney Network) for the entire Olympics....

If the US gets knocked out I'll probably root for Peter Forsberg.

Sorry to my Canadian friends but I just cant root for any team with Crosby on it. I hope they get embarrassed.

Niitty came pretty damn close, Gold medal game, and I think Miller will rock some socks in Vancouver...

USA all the way. They've got the potential to surprise a lot of people. I just don't want the Canadians to win. No offense Canadian Flyers fans.

This is the Olympics! It's all about offending other nations and embarrassing them!

My honest predictions:

Gold - Russia
Silver - USA
Bronze - Sweden (over Canada)

Not sure about the others, but all but three players for Latvia's team have played in one or more of either the CHL, ECHL, AHL, US College Hockey or the NHL at some point, so it shouldn't be a problem. It didn't seem to bother them one bit in Halifax at the World Championships two years ago.

Getzlaf was injured tonight, reports say sprained ankle. Maybe Carter or Stamkos will get called up. It's a shame for Getzlaf, so close to the tournament.

Been watching a lot more of Ryan Miller and as you all know, this dude is sick nasty!

If the US gets anywhere near the medals, it will mostly be because of his play.

Beating a dead horse?

No, the US will win even if Miller sucks. There isn't really any other team that scares me. Maybe Latvia. Bartulis has a sick shot from the point.

Ryan Miller's mask, found on the Rangers board:

Good find Jimbo. I'm kinda diggin' the mask, curious to see the other side.
I bought a Miller shirt the other day, gotta support my last name AND my country.
I am more excited for this years Olympic hockey then I have been in the past. We have a pretty talented squad (but I cannot help but drool at Canada's defense). U-S-A! U-S-A! "Gunna rise up gunna kick some ass..."

So do you love it every time you hear Rick Jeanerrette yell "MMMMMMIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEERRRRR!!!!!"??

And I can't wait for this year's Olympics. I've got both the men's and women's schedules programmed in my blackberry. I'm getting together with friends on the 21st to watch the women's game against Canada.
