Lehtonen won't draw much at all. Last year Theodore was grabbed for Washington's 3rd round pick. That was peanuts.

And DW gets fleeced with regularity anyways.

Hossa AND Dupuis for Armstrong and jocks.
Zhitnik (who we are still paying) for Coburn.

Lehtonen>Theodore

Waddell probably wants a solid prospect instead of a pick.

Kovalchuk rejects $100M deal, playing last game for ATL tonight?

Quote:
#Thrashers offered Kovalchuk $100 million and he turned it down. That's just under a max deal. For a pure scorer Kovy isn't worth it.

Could be a huge week for Bruins fans and Boston sports fans. Kovalchuk is playing last game for Atlanta tonight. Start holding your breath.

the question is if he's actually looking for more money then that who would be willing to pay that price? I can't think of one team

That's because he's not looking for more money, he's looking for a different team.

This is very close to the same info in the Lehtonen on the block, Kovy Gone thread.

I am just going to merge the two.

Nashville Predators. My prediction, they were trying to get Kessel before right?

Espn and Eklund aren't the greatest with rumors.

Prospects can be a bit overrated in general, so I wasn't sure.

I could see Schenn,Johnson 1st though

It was 2 years ago, Huet, and a 2nd (Anaheim's, though that's neither here nor there).

Theo was a free agent signing.

Likely scenario. Kovy will go wherever he wants July 1st.

This is my feeling without a doubt. I think there's gonna be a huge surprise on where he goes and gets signed long term.

Yes, but I'm pretty sure we have two 2nd round picks in this next draft.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Kovy will sign for $8 per year for 6 or 7 years with a good team with proven ownership. Good for him. Get it done yesterday WAddell so that our team can move ahead.

Lehtonen isn't it either.

Can the Kings just trade for Evander Kane instead?

It's a strange scenario, as all the current "contenders" - SJ, Chicago and Washington - really have no need for Kovalchuk IMO.

He'd be a nice acquisition, but I don't think he'd make them that much better overall (depending on the cost).

Lehtonen is great young goalie but needs fresh start in new team.
Yeah, he's not franchise goalie but he can be top 10-15 in this league if he stays healthy.
