Go Giggy!!! Shutout in his first game. Gotta love that, bet Burke had a good chuckle with us winning after moving 6 players off the roster.

So nice to feel like a real team instead of a bunch of 3rd liners trying to outenergize you

Shoestrom was awesome, looks like he could be a real steal. I knew about the d/PKing but I didn't expect him to be that fast

29 save shutout for Giggy. Only Eddie had a shutout in his Leaf debut.

Phaneuf was great, what a start. Bullets from the point on the PP.

Schenn picked up physicality. His breakout passing was great.

Sjostrom - Wallin - Kulemin were solid. Yes, Wallin dominated the dot. 9-3 I think. Sjostrom and the rest of the PK kept the NJ PP on the outside all night.

Leafs were over 60% overall in faceoffs.

Beauch was solidific.

Its nice to see that the guys can actually depend on a NHL capable goalie to make some key saves here and there.

Man does he ever look big in nets compared to Vesa

Ducks fan stopping by here. I'm really happy that Giggy got a shutout tonight. I hope he can continue to play well in the future for you guys. Don't be alarmed by his stats this season (or last for that matter), he still has a lot left in him but our team just left him out to dry on most nights.

Have a good one guys.

I didn't see the game but was tracking the score. Any idea how nervous 3-0 was to me tonight?

Anyway. Ding, ding, ding , ding

Jersey didn't have much going. They were able to maintain pressure but never were much of a threat in our zone.

2 of our 3 goals should have been stopped by their goalie.

The leafs played with more confidence from the get-go. I saw phaneuf chatting with schenn on the bench. Schenn was more physical than he is usually. Considering he once said phaneuf is his favourite player, if any of dion's physicality rubs off on schenn (it seems that way so far) then it's an even bigger plus.

Glad that phaneuf wasn't running around or being stupid. He played a solid game. Giggy played a solid game. Not really tested, but made every save he needed to.

Can't plan the parade yet, and am still concerned about consistent scoring, but for a first game with what I might just consider a new team, this was great.
