I also noticed that he stood in front of Giiguere and directed team mates (vocally) to go and challenge for the puck while he stayed in front. As opposed to a common occurrence, where both Leaf d-men went towards the puck carrier in the corner, leaving guys open in front.
I notice that too, and thought it was awesome. He would just naturally gravitate towards the front of the net. He didn't get out of position chasing the puck. He covered that net. That was his home and he owned it. He directed his own teammates to do the chasing while he stayed in position. As a result, when Phaneuf was on the ice, no Devil player got to sneak in the backdoor, or screen Giguere. That's something we haven't seen a lot of this year.
If Dion can be Dion, and Schenn can model his game like Shea Weber (which is what he tries to do anyway) I'd say we have a very dangerous pairing in the future... not like they haven't already made an impact, I just want to see consistent domination.
Oh you know what's fun too? Go to the trade rumours board and search for Phaneuf proposals. Hehe.
Schenn and Weber never played together with the Rockets, Webers last year was 04-05, Schenns first was 05-06. I think the Rockets just brought Schenn along with them after they drafted him to see what the Memorial Cup was like in 04-05.
