I keep looking for Pheonix to lose. 1-0 win vs Nashville tonight with Adrian freaking Aucoin with the shootout winner in the 10th round. What the hell?

Freakin awesome. As much as I loved watching Allison, Deadmarsh and Palffy before the evil spirits came upon them, this is the most energized I've ever been as a King's fan. There is so much to like about the present and future of this team.

Bernier is going to have a very hard time wresting the starter's job from Quick.

Just imagine the return the Kings could get if Bernier is as good as his stats look in the AHL. One of the goalies can be used to pickup a top player and a 1st rounder.

nice to not see a let down game after a huge road trip. Quick was big at the end of the game as well and Kopi with a beauty of a shot.

No team keeps 2 #1 goalies. By the end of Bernier's ELC, we should have an idea of how good each goalie will be, Quick and Bernier. If both at great, one of them has to be traded. One of them would not be happy playing only 15-20 games a season.

I think the organization is strong enough at this point that the wrong move on any Quick/Bernier decision won't be crippling, but it might still be the most definitive moment of Lombardi's tenure with the Kings. If Bernier ships out like Kipper, and Quick stays behind like Nabokov, nobody is going to complain. I hope the scenario unfolds at least as well as that one. But one can imagine better and worse.

Especially when we don't know how his game will translate to the NHL yet. We've spent too much resources and time to develop him. If Dean trades him and Quick flops in the playoffs and becomes a goalie like Turco is for the Stars then we are screwed. Bernier has a very high ceiling, lets wait and see how it all plays out.

I think they'll give Bernier 2 years as a back up and then decide.

So you are agreeing with me... You do not entertain trading Bernier until you see them next year. Nobody seized the number 1 in training camp but the coaches gave it to Quick prior to training camp.
Quick is playing well now and Dean got him on the US team.
We'll see what happens...

We are set, locked, and loaded for a playoff run. This team is turning into something special (finally), no need to make any moves.

How long did DL give Kippur(in the NHL), before dealing him in favor of Nabokov?

Yeah, my opinion is that we're not at that point yet to trade away goalie assets.

I think a couple of minor moves could do well for us...so long as it gets rid of the dead weight on the roster (Jones especially)...
