Chistian Hanson the next Travis Zajac?

Loved his play at C last night and see him fitting into a 3rd line C quite nicely, sound defensively, good hands and touch, good size and speed, has all the tools of being another Travis Zajac, anyone else see it?

Seen it for a while.
Plays both ends, and can mix it up around the nets.
He is better than Stalberg and I'm glad he got the call first this time.

he is better in the Center position, that's for sure...

hopefully he can stay up for a bit and learn at the NHL level... he's going to have a lot of ice to cover now and so far, he seems up to it... i do forget how big he is

I still dont see why people think he's most likely to become a bust. He's been nothing but solid for a while now. I'm happy he's in Toronto

Maybe it's premature, but he is going to improve more, and will be more effective as a 3rd line centre than Mitchell, Primeau or Wallin going forward.

Grabs takes Wallin's spot, Bozak on the 1st, Primeau C on the 4th.

Looked real solid last night...lets see if his development at the NHL compares to his proven development in the AHL.

Stalberg, Hanson, Bozak, Kadri earned the spots in training camp.

Burke had to give the spots to the veterans to build some value into them, and it we have to question whether the Phaneuf trade takes place if those guys had been sent to the minors.

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

Surprised this hasn't been brought up sooner. Everything has value, it is up to the coach and GM to show it while hiding the flaws.

i definitely like the idea of a

Stalberg (or Kulemin) Hanson Sjostrom 3rd line for next year and maybe beyond

strong skaters, checkers and some score threat too

I think at worst, we have a center version of Kilger in him.

I to am unaware as to why Torontonians think he's a bust, I had him slotted into a lineup for next season, and someone responded with "Hanson? good luck"... seemed pretty random. Everything I've seen from him suggests he's a full-time NHLer, and soon(maybe even now)

No, he is not going to be like Zajac. There was a reason that Zajac was picked in the first round.

Very few people think he's going to be a bust. Some people (myself) included don't think Hanson has the same offensive upside as the rest of the brat pack. This is my opinion based on watching him in the NHL and AHL.

He looked good at C. He won 75% of his draws last night.

I think the Zajac comparisons are way too lofty, nevermind premature.

the comparison to zajac is not really a good one, but as for Hanson, I would be MUCH happier with him slotted as the third line center of the future rather than mitchell.

I think Backes is a better comparable cause of the edge factor i've never seen Zajac hit somebody the way in saw Hanson level White last night.

Because being picked in the first round is the only way to have success in this league.

I see his upside as a Paul Gaustad, but a little quicker and not as tough.

Hanson is a bottom 6 guy, not a top 6 guy.

Do you mind refreshing us what round Kaberle was drafted in again? 8th round was it?

Comparatively, wasn't Sjostrom picked 11th overall?

Where your drafted is not the end all of end all.

Who liked the Sjostrom-Mitchell-Hanson line last night? Are we on to something here. Hanson looked so much better than his last call-up.

i really dont understand this thread. Is it because hanson skated beside zajac and they look similar? It was one game, I didnt think he looked all that good, decent, but not worthy of saying hes the next gd zajac.
