Does anyone have information on John Carter?

"John Carter -- Never mind rising -- how about the fact that he's even on the list? Who is he and where did he come from? No matter what level of competition he's playing against, great size, soft hands, puck skills, and vision will always get you noticed eventually."

"African-American John Carter, a New York suburban high school player who was off the radar, has created a bit of a stir a couple of months before the draft. He's a 6-4 center who used to play in the Detroit Compuware organization, and didn't play at all last season. He went to the Hockey Night in Boston game and scouts came away believing he could land in the first three rounds. He's an excellent skater."

The only one I can find so far is 40 years old. I'll keep trying.

edit: I think I found him. He plays/ed on the Detroit Honeybaked 86s of the MWEHL. Good luck finding info, though. I Googled John Carter Detroit Honeybaked 86s and couldn't get anywhere. For the record, he's number 103 on this list: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/article.php?sid=4456
and here: http://centralscouting.nhl.com/CSNewsUpdates.nsf/0/23e1febf7c00358985256bb3006294b7/$FILE/2002%20OHL%20Priority%20Selection..pdf
and finally: http://www.victoryhondahockey.com/alumni.html

Once usahockey.com is up, there should be a link to his "current" (?) team which is supposedly the New York Jr. A. That's as far as I got. Good luck.

Cato, try the NHL board. I seem to recall reading a thread about John Carter a few months ago. There are more Americans there who might have the info.
