He's not saying Stalberg is better than Mueller per say. It is just in the fans best interest to keep Stalberg who has been developing in the leafs own system for a few years. and, Stalberg prolly will be a Top 6 forward, have you even seen the kid play? I'd say he is on of the Top 5 fastest players in the league already, and only 21 i believe.
I would take it. Maybe swap Gogo with Letang.
Gogo and Gonchar are the only Pens defense signing for next year.
What about Fedentenko? Would the Coyotes be interested in him?
All so read the Coyotes are looking for a high end prospect, Would Caputi be of interest to the Coyotes?
The Coyotes will not trade Mueller unless it's a drastic overpayment!
Which Mueller is that? The one with four goals on the season or the idea of what Mueller might become?
In any case - if I am a Phoenix GM it just doesn't make sense to trade him, because no one sane is going to give up anything like what he looked like being worth in his rookie season. Might as well sign him to cheap terms and let him show that kind of form again. He sure should be pretty cheap to re-sign save for a kick ass playoff run. And in that case he'd be a much more valuable commodity anyway.
Get over yourself. Stalberg will be top6 player. Mark my words. I don't know who will turn out to have the better career becuase I like Mueller aswell. But it's not like he's a huge homer for wanting to stick with Stalberg at this point.
I love how when Leaf fans try to praise their prospects that are up and coming people bash them, but if it's another teams prospect their automatically Godlike compared to the Leafs prospects just because their on the Leafs.
quick question - has Mueller's skating improved at all or is he still on the slow side?
He's not fast but he can move when he needs to. His skating is a lot more like his rookie season than last season. The kid got on some bunk training program and added like twenty pounds of weight the summer before last. It completely ruined him. His skating went from "not a strong suit" to "not NHL quality". He had to bust his ass and work all of it off last summer. He's lean again, and skating much, much better.
1st Round Pick in '10
2nd Round Pick in '11
Thats a joke right? We give up Mueller AND a first? Laughable.....Yotes are keeping Mueller as far as I see it. His value is low and he is starting to turn the corner. He'll be puttin up 20 goal seasons sooner than later.
Prospal will help this season in the playoffs, he is a veteran and a very good playmaker.
Sauer is a defensive defenseman who is ready to go pro. Former 2nd rounder with some snarl, 6'3. Brother of Sauer on the Coytoes.
I'll take Prospal but not for Mueller....we dont want Sauer. We dont even know if our SAuer is still living. Their's been zero talk about him for a long time. 2nd +? Then we can go get Plek for a first and we'll have an all Czech team .
While I can understand why Yotes' fans don't really want to give up Mueller with his value low and his play looking like it's coming around that Edmonton proposal is far from the joke that you seem to think it is.
Not long ago many including several on the Coyotes' Board were thinking Mueller for Cogliano straight up wasn't too far from equitable. (I wouldn't trade Peter for Cogs by the way)
That leaves a 1st that looks like it will be in the 20-25 range (and still leaves the yotes with another first) and a 2nd that was a throw-in on the Upshall trade for Penner. While his production has gone down since Hemsky was injured and many are not sold that his new found commitment to fitness will last, he is putting up 20 goal season now.
I wouldn't want to do the deal either but the value isn't so far off that laughing smilies and comments about jokes are warranted either, at least in this guy's opinion.
