How many 30 goal scoring wingers are out there that don't need the PP or an elite C to help them get it done?

They need to make room for a real #1 center and you start by trimming the fat.
Stempniak's contract expires after this season. He'll return a pick for us I'm sure...No need to dump him for nothing.

How many 30 goal scoring wingers did Calgary get?

(Hint: The number is less than 1)

In a little over a year on the job:

Stajan
Antropov
Kubina
Moore
Blake
Hagman
White
Mayers
Stralman
Tlusty
Pogge
Toskala

GONE

That is a ton of change, and some fans here are still impatient that he isn't doing enough.

I agree, I was just replying to burying him in the minors, which I don't think is needed.

It's not that he's not doing enough, it's that we're 2nd last in the NHL. What's funny about that?

huh? I was responding to Bobermay saying Stemp would be sent to the AHL. I said no he won't be, the only place he is going is in a deadline deal. Stemp to Buffalo for a 3rd

Maybe Stemp. can bring back a pick + some sort of prospect. And i'm not kidding...just hit on bob murray again or perhaps glen sather...he seems to want to win now with picking up joke-a-nin.

Here's my summary

- Burke liked Hanson and Bozak last night. Thought Hanson had his best NHL game.
- Burke didn't feel nervous heading into the third period.
- Likes the way the team looks/act now (on/off the ice), it was a "schizo" team. Doesn't seem that way anymore.
- Thinks Phaneuf brings that "swagger".
- Talked to Primeau before they made the deal about Phaneuf's compete level.
- CAL asked for Hagman + White for Dion. Burke thought it was too much. Asked for Aulie. They asked for Stajan. Once again too much for Burke. Burke asked for Sjostrom. Mayers thrown in. Deal.
- Focused on Giguere's SV% which indicates he still has it. Jiggy's work ethic is second to none among players under Burke.
- Felt that having Allaire is the wildcard that can bring Jiggy back to the level of old.
- Reiterated that Jiggy will serve as a mentor to Gusto.
- Looking to add players. Willing to put players in the minors to get more cap space.
- Two deals thrown at him in the last 24 hours.
- Really pleased with Schenn's development over the last 20 games.
- 1-6 - feels a good argument can be made for best blueline in the league (WITH Komi)
- Is ok with the huge dollars on the blueline*. Has no issues, had a large dollar commitment in Anaheim. Not new to him.

Sutter got hosed, Hagman and White too much? That is priceless. I mean if that is the case Ryder, Halak and a 2nd could have gotten you Sid the Kid last year.
Stajan and Mayers to balance out the overpayment on Phaneuf and to do that add a useful cheap roster player in Sjostrom and a highly touted prospect in Aulie. Wow, still in shock I guess is what I'm saying.

When did he say that ?

Brunt asked him if it was okay to have that much money tied up in the blueline. He said "yup". Brunt scrambled to get the number and said 27 million. Burke replied that he had a high dollar commitment in Anaheim and that turned out okay.

I swore before he was fumbling the 27 mill line
he said it's too much tied into d and he was asking if trade 1 to shore up forwards was the way to go or something along those line
