Truth be told, I think he'll get something in between, but I am really interested to see what he gets. Also, I have no idea what Waddell really is looking for, he should be looking at rebuild but they're close to the playoffs again.
Prolly will get back a 4 mil contract....a high level prospect, a good young nhler and prolly a 1st...

Ya, best way to lose weight, IMO. You don't need to shoot this in your eyes.

Forsberg went for Upshall, Parent, 1st, and 3rd. The 1st was then traded back to Nashville for Hartnell and Timonen.

So I think it ended up as Timonen, Hartnell, Upshall, Parent, and a 3rd for Forsberg.

Letang and Talbot are worth a look, though a third team may have to be involved.

To Atl:

Redden
Grachev
Jokinen
McDonaugh
1st in 2010
2nd in 2010
1st in 2011

To NYR:

A resigned Kovalchuk

rangers would have cap room for a quality defenseman and would be a lethal team for the next 10 years

It's a moot point anyway because he's not coming to Vancouver, but you've proven you know NOTHING about the Canucks or their assets, so you've made your point.

Which is incredible may I add. Turned Philly around.........but it was the Rights to UFA's so Nashville made a real good deal there too since the guys were gondie anyway........Philly just negotiated early

I pick Chicago BTW.........they have what it takes to give the Thrashers signed players and money.....sharp, barker, 1st and a descent young guy like Skille would do it for sure.......then Hawks need to rent a UFA Dman for the playoffs though

Well... kinda. The rights to negotiate with a player are not the same thing as the player himself. I meant to say Upshall in my first post. So Upshall and a prospect. Plus the rights to two UFAs. That's hardly the same thing as four young players, all of whom have top 2 line talent (offensively or defensively)

That being said... Edmonton doesn't have NHL players....

An example would be something like:

ATL: A. Frolov + A. Cogliano + P. O'Sullivan + Tom Gilbert etc. etc.
EDM: J. Bernier + C. Teubert
LAK: I. Kovalchuk
I live in Edmonton too, wheres the good stuff? Oiler fans seem to be smoking some stuff I've never tried.

O'Sullivan has no value, so they're trading Cogliano and an overpaid Gilbert for Bernier and Teubert?

Then a few pages back someone had the Oilers trading Gagner, Cogliano, + something else and ending up with Krejci and the Leafs 1st.

Sure, that probably makes more sense for Edmonton anyway. If they can keep Gagner and get Boston's TO pick they get a nice core to build around moving forward. Kreijci probably won't be in the right age range to fit with that, as Edmonton would probably have to let him walk in two years to lock up the two top 3 picks to second contracts anyway.

Edit: Not that the value makes sense for Atlanta in that case. Why take a bunch of spare parts from Edmonton instead of a top 3 pick? Just to avoid taking on Ryder's money? Then why would they want O'Sullivan's contract? Omark probably doesn't have much value with his status up in the air. Maybe they take some defensive assets instead, might make more sense.

This is like the "Sundin signing Today" and "Heatley Being Traded Before Mid-Night" threads lol. We kept waiting, and waiting, and waited somemore lol. I think there was something like 5 parts of the Heatley thread lol.

lol.

Yeah, the Thrashers are going to add salary in this trade. That's realistic.

I don't think Rangers fans need to worry much about Kovalchuk re-signing. If they land him, he's as good as re-signed. They'll offer him anything he wants. And I'm sure he'll love NYC.

agreed. we can all speculate on different teams for valid reasons, but the pens are the only team I see NOT having any interest , at all ... for kovalchuk.

the team I'm curious about is philie ... I can see them looking for new blood in exchange for either richard/briere/S.gagne/carter ....
