MMA Trivia

Lets get some MMA trivia going on in this thread...i'll start off.

Name the fighter who's beaten a WWE professional wrestler, a BJJ black belt, a Taekwan-Do black belt, a two time NCAA division 1 wrestling champion, a judo champion, and an ultimate fighter coach.

Tito? Just a guess without trying to look. Which I assume is part of the game...and I like this....without cheating on the net....this could be fun.

Gonna go with Randy

Pro wrestler: Tony Halme
BJJ black belt: Gonzaga
NCAA 2x champ: Randleman
TUF coach: Chuck, Tito
not sure about the judo and TKD black belts but that's my best guess

Good guess but that's not it.

You guys can use wiki if you want to figure it out, it's still pretty tough I think

My first thought was Randy as well but now that I know that's wrong I'm thinking it's Sakuraba.

WWE wrestler - Ken Shmarock
BJJ BB - Gracies
2x NCAA champ - Randleman
Judo - some french guy, Yoon Dong Sik,
TUF coach - Shamrock
TKD BB - one of his Japanese opponents?

Not sure on the TKD Black belt.

You got it, the TUF coach I had in mind was Rampage and the TKD black belt is the guy he beat at Dream 12 I can't remember his name now though.

I'm not sure if there's only one guy that fits this description, but either way, name the fighter with a professional MMA record of 1-0, with his only victory being a knockout win over a former UFC champion.

That's easy, it's gotta be Ray Mercer.

Ah, I didn't even think about Rampage. Also didn't realize that Zelg is TKD BB. I always thought he was more of kickboxing/muay thai fighter which I still think he is as well as being a TKD expert. Too bad he sucks on the ground.

Here's one: aside from Travis Fulton (who's a trivia category all to himself), who has the record for most wins by KO/TKO in MMA?

Hint: he has 31.

Wandy and CroCop come to mind but I'm not sure they have that many. I'll go check.

EDIT - just checked and Wand has 23 and CroCop only has 19. But as I scrolled thru Wand's list of opponents the name Gilbert Yvel jumped out at me so I checked and he does have 31. So my answer is Gilbert Yvel.

Vovchanchyn? Has to be up there.

Who calls himself the first UFC Heavyweight Champ, and "has the belt at home to prove it"?

Yup it's Yvel. Igor is right next on the list so that's a good guess as well. Manhoef and Wanderlei round out the top 5, followed by a bunch of obscure guys.

This one should be easy but who are the two fighters who have won more then one fight by way of gogoplata?

At least, I think only two have achieved that feat.

Sounds like something Don Frye would say.

My other guess would be Mark Coleman since he was the first UFC HW Champ.

Ken Shamrock? I thought I remembered him bringing the belt on Inside MMA with him.

There's proabbly others as well, but Brad Imes and Shinya Aoki.

Yvel would certainly have been my next guess. A shame it isn't Igor. Yvel is a clown.

Yep. Either a 'Superfight' strap has the word 'Heavyweight' on it, or he was jealous of the recognition Coleman was getting.

Which fighter (a known guy, not some can in Japan) with over 30 wins in MMA, has only won one fight in North America?

Wanderlei, his only win on NA soil is against Jardine.

My first guess was Cro Cop, who also has only one win in North America (Eddie Sanchez ), but he's a few wins shy of 30.

Question: Since winning his first ever fight by choke, Randy Couture has only submitted one other opponent in his MMA career. Who is it? (No checking fight finder! )

Wanderlei actually fought in one of the very early UFC's and won in that fight, so he has 2 wins in North America
