Funny, I was just coming back into the thread to ask someone to start the GDT since there is so much activity on the boards right now...

Let's see...wouldn't today of all days be the most appropriate for a Cal O'Reilly sighting?

Would it be too much to ask of him to find a pot of gold in the back of the Flyers net as well???

There shouldn't be that much activity since it's almost 1am! I need to go to sleep, I have class in 7 hours.

Being partly Irish myself and having a last name and a hair color that's a dead giveaway to that fact, I am especially excited on this night (though it is a day early). I would loooove for some O'Reilly action as well. O, O, O'Reilly!

knowing Trotz, oreilly will be scratched.

you'll have to settle for Jordin O'Tootoo and Seamus Weber

I don't care who plays...as an American with strong Irish heritage I just want a win in both of the games that bookend St. Patty's day!!!!!

I don't get why so many people consider Legwand's line as the fourth line? He matches up against the opponent's top line most nights and typically is among our team leaders in ice time among forwards...

Yes, they are more of a defensive line than anything else, but that doesn't relegate them to fourth line status any more than Detroit's shutdown unit or any other teams. In fact, it is due to their shutdown ability that they typically see as much, if not more, ice time than the top offensive unit...

Please, keep the discussion about Legwand to the other thread, but I just wanted to point out this little caveat that's been bothering me lately...

yeah slake I've wondered that myself but to be fair to people that may just go by what they see on tv(no offence meant to anyone) that is the way the lines were listed on the broadcast the other day.

I would LOVE to see Legwand and Goc switched in the line up though. Over all i don't see that we lose much defense but Sully and Horny looked good out there with Legwand toward the end of the game against the Kings and he really compliments them as a second line.

Welcome back Hartnell and Timonen (and Parent). I thank them for their time and miss them and would welcome them back. But not at the expense of our current D nor at the expense of our discipline.

Anyway, hope the Preds carry the momentum from Ana, LA into the game. Philly is pissed after their last game so they will no doubt be out to play better.

I guess Tootoo and Carcillo will go.

I am super pumped for this game, I don't know why. So the Predators better play right and get a win!

Once promising Pred returns tonight.
Quote:
"I am sure there will be a lot of emotions,'' he said of his return to Music City. "I miss the fans and I miss the city. I will probably hit up Broadway there and see some live music and enjoy that part of the city. When I played there I went down there once or twice every couple of weeks and just sat there for an afternoon.''
Everybody loves Nashville. Saturday during the Sharks/Panthers game the TV announcers were answering their favorite NHL city to visit and of course Ramenda said NY/Van, but the PxP guy said Nashville, he really loves it. Then Ramenda said, "One word, Tootsies!"

Also, I don't have any Irish in me at all, far from it, but I will happily be partaking in this fine Irish holiday (even if it is a day early).

Let's Go Predators!!

It's a shame they don't play 6-on-6 anymore; if they did O'Reilly could have his own theme song.

I'm going to see the game tonight! I'm so excited! I couldn't afford Florida for Spring Break, but I think Preds/Flyers is a better tradeoff anyway.

Go Preds!

My buddy got a couple for xmas presents. They're wrapped, I think, pucks that are signed by players and/or have their names/numbers on them. Can't remember how much they were but my buddy said he got Leggy and Wilson.

I bought quite a few mystery pucks last season. I was kinda dissapointed the cheapness of the pucks. Don't know if they;re different this year. I quit buying them. It's just easier to buy the puck you want autographed and go to the practices and choose who you want to sign them.

These are the Flyers updated lines based on the skate today:

Quote:
Here are the expected lines for tonight’s matchup:

Hartnell – Carter – Briere
Gagne – Richards – Carcillo
Asham – Giroux – Van Riemsdyk
Powe – Betts - Laperriere

Laviolette said the defensive pairings will remain the same as this weekend. Michael Leighton is back in goal for his 15th straight start.

Scott Hartnell was all smiles at this morning’s skate at the Bridgestone Arena. He was greeted by Nashville coach Barry Trotz and a host of team employees. Hartnell skated in Nashville for 6 full seasons before being traded to the Flyers as a restricted free agent in the summer of 2007.

Hartnell came with former Nashville defenseman Kimmo Timonen in that deal for a 1st round pick.

This is both Timonen and Hartnell’s first game back in Nashville since then. Both players led Nashville to their best season in franchise history (51 wins, 110 points) in 2006-07.

“Being here at the rink this morning, there were just a lot of great memories and a lot of big wins,” Hartnell said. “It was a lot of fun. Just being on the ice, and see some of the other guys on the other team [at their skate] was a little weird. Hopefully we can have a big win and have some fun here.”
