Buy/Sell: The Official "Boredgame" of the Pittsburgh Penguins

We have 5 days off before our next game so might as well bring out the buy/sell to pass some time. Pretty simple rules... answer the buy/sell and keep it going with one of your own. Remember, explain your reasoning in depth whether you buy or sell.

Buy/Sell: As of 2/2/2010, this Penguins team is good enough to get back to the SCF.

Sell - we're still need a top-6 winger and a defensive d-man (like Scuderi) away if we want to get back to the SCF

Buy/Sell: Sergei Gonchar will be in the long-term plans for the Penguins

Sell. They're close but they need a few tweaks to bolster their strengths.

Buy/Sell : In 15 years, Bob Errey will be secretly recognized as a genius performance artist/troll ala Andy Kaufman.

Buy. Sure thing.

Buy/Sell : In 15 years, Gary Bettman will be recognized as having been always behind us hockey fans.

Buying it all day long. Nobody likes to talk about this, but without Bettman standing firm and locking out the players a couple years back, the Pens are still the Bucs of the NHL and we don't win a Cup last year or any year for that matter...

Buy/Sell: Shero will surprise us all and get Whitney & Poni at the deadline.

Sell.

I really think Shero's going after Ladd.

Buy/Sell : The NHL will repeal the instigator rule within five years.

Buy, although it wouldn't be that much of a surprise now would it, if everyone keeps talking about such deals

Buy/Sell: Pascal Dupuis will be traded at the deadline to some young team that is in need of some experienced forwards, and our PK ability will plummet because of it.

Hey Errey, are you goofing on pelvises? Hey baby, are you losing touch?

Sell - His asking price will be what he makes now or only slightly less, minimum, for multiple years. Not helping the process is the fact that JP Barry is his agent.

Sell - I feel like important people in and around the game simply want fighting phased out. Or at least the idea of "enforcers." It's a half-broken rule but one that will be kept.

Buy/Sell: Enough constant exposure to Paul Steigerwald's commentary could literally bore/annoy a person to death.

You know, I kinda buy it. He's had a quietly good year, he's on a reasonable contract, and he's defensively sound. Definitely not a move out of left field.

Buy/Sell -- the Pens fire the strength and conditioning coach after the season.

Kadar? Sell. He's not gonna be fired, because nobody will.

Buy. 100%. Worst play-by-play guy in the East.

Bring back Lange.

Buy -- but they'll inexplicably keep the exact same medical staff.

Sell -- providing that means Yeo. Yeo has some sort of telekinetic death-grip on Ray Shero's brain that will enable him to stay behind the bench indefinitely.

A-freakin'-men. Some say that he gets ragged on too often.

No such thing.

Sell, because anyone that's willing to be logical knows that the whole coaching staff has input into the power play and that Bylsma gives the okay on everything. It's not one guy screwing it all up just because he happens to be the one that runs it in practice.

Buy/Sell: Goligoski is capable of playing the left point on the PP if Gonch leaves. I will buy.

Buy: I do think the system will be back to up-tempo at just the right time... That simplified game will help our defensive struggle & transition game.

Buy: Capable, yes. At this moment.. no. Gogo goes through his ups/downs w/ his comfort to play the puck. He's probably only a year or two away from becomming that player.

Buy/Sell: Next year's team w/ the current salary cap woes will be better w/ more depth than this years team.

Sell. Yeah, he can play there, but I don't think he'll EVER be as solid with the puck as Gonchar is/was.

Buy. I still think that with less players like Fedotenko, and Wilkes Barre seemingly bursting at the seams, we're going to have a little bit more space next year if Guerin and Fedotenko go. I'd love to see our bottom 6 fill up with young talent from WBS. That said, I wouldn't mind having Guerin back if he doesn't retire.

Buy/Sell: If Washington or Chicago were to acquire Kovalchuk without giving up any major core pieces, we could still beat either team in a 7-Game series.

*Edit, I was typing this when Cole posted his, so I did his, and now we're back on track i think.

BUY: They can't afford to acquire Kovalchuk without sacrificing core players.

Buy/Sell Maxime Talbot will wear Penguins black and gold for the rest of his NHL career.

Sell. Talbot might not make it to next season being in the black and gold.

Buy/Sell: Shero surprises us at the trade deadline.

Not adhering to the rules here, just had to throw my unconditional support behind this opinion. Or should i say, more accurately, FACT.

That is a pretty full question. I'll buy it because he could surprise us by doing nothing OR surprise us by bringing in a strong defender and winger.

All I know is that I'm calling in sick for trade deadline day. I have no clue which route Shero will go.

Buy/Sell: Mario actually buys the Pirates and starts Crosby at shortstop

Sell: Nutting isn't going to give up a business that pays him for losing. It would be crazy.

Buy/Sell: The Penguins will find a winger who will be signed for more than the remainder of the season at the deadline.

I'll buy, but it's close. Not sure who though, but I don't think Shero is going to rely on rentals forever at the wings. I think Poni makes a lot of sense, although a guy like Torres may be more realistic.

Buy / Sell: Pittsburgh takes advantage of NJ's recent slide and wins the division.

If that comes to pass, we'd pretty much have to trade for Jack Johnson

Being Sid's best friend in the whole wide world... doesn't that already mean it's a done deal come deadline? I'm pretty sure we'd give Malkin for that.
