Boogaard vs Chara

Who would win, i'm not bothered that the wouldn't fight, because i know they wouldn't. However which giant would win?

Boogard, he's a real fighter, Chara is a good fighter but Boogard does one thing. Chara would wrestle with him I bet.

I think a few years ago in his Sens days when Chara used to fight angry ...''see Ivanans and Gill fights, McCabe ragdolling and so on'' Chara would have had a greater then 50% shot! Now Chara doesnt seem to get mad , he seems to have his emotions under control, if the fight did happen I think it would be a Boogard win or a draw due to a Chara huggy bear takedown like the BGL ''fight'!

My thoughts exactly.

I'll take Boogaard.

Chara pretty easily.

Boogaard wins fights with his often ridiculous size and reach advantage. Chara neutralizes this and is definitely stronger on his skates giving him the 'grappling' advantage.

^ Chara has below average balance in fights, not stronger on his skates at all.

Boogard would win. But- Chara's most underrated fighting asset is that when he gets throwing he throws these rangy, lanky and very damaging rights (see Cairns' broken jaw fight). If Chara lands that punch he can hurt anyone, even Boogard

Pretty much what the last poster said. Chara has incredible reach and power, but his balance is awful... quite possibly the worst out of any regular fighter ( or when he would fight on a regular basis ) I've personally seen. I don't know if his size is a detriment and guys just use leverage, or he just doesn't know how to keep his feet when throwing them. But he goes down way to easy for a 260 pound man.

Boogaard I think has more experience than Chara in fighting because he been in more fights than Chara. I would probably have to say that Boogaard would win. It would be very close though since Chara is the biggest in the NHL.

Fritz fought Boogard 4 times in 2000 in the WHL and won each one, including this TKO vs. Boogie.

I wonder how it would go nowadays.

Chara is not a good fighter..he is pretty good in fighting, but not good fighter.
Only thing what he does is holding the opposite out of reach and when there is possibility he try to punch him. When not, he grab him and try to fall down on the ice.

Average fighter with same big body will beat Chara easy.

Boogy man was made to fight, it all he trains to do now.

He's gone through all boxer rituals, burning knuckles, broke his own nose.He learned early in his carear, 22ish what his role is and he does it well.

Chara and Boogard is like the Laperriere O'Byrne fight last week. Laperriere should of destroyed someone who has the skill of OB, but due to his gargantuan size, O'Byrne (Chara) would be competitive in this one.

No. There was a huge size discrepancy in that one. In this case Boogard and Chara are the same size. Chara is a little taller and Boogard is a little heavier.

Yeah but my point is that Chara's beastliness would make this one close.
