Hopefully Karlsson's injury isn't too severe. Hoping for an update sometime today...

Sens Skills have him listed as part of Team Black. Perhaps this indicates that the injury is minor?

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure the lineups were set up before the game.

At the game last night, they had interviews with Phillips and Alfredsson displayed on the scoreboard about their respective teams for the Sens Skills.

according to Don Brennan (via Twitter)

Erik Karlsson has shoulder injury. Won't be back before Olympic break

Clouston confirms he's gone until post-break.

He said 2-3 week injury probably. "Crossing our fingers" that it shouldn't be any longer than after the break.

CRAP!!!!

Just when the kid was turning it on....

I suppose the 2 weeks off at the Olympics along with the week prior, will give him a chance to rest....

A little rest turned his season around before this. Stay positive...

It really sucks as he's been an integral part of our amazing streak, but I'm relieved he'll be back soon after the Olympic break. Could have been worse I guess.

Bad news but you never know, if he's used to less compact seasons in Sweden this break may be a blessing in disguise.

Campoli, were you watching Erik play the past few weeks? Because he's gone for a while, and you pick up some of the slack. Please, we need you to show Erik's dogged pursuit of the puck in the corners. Move your feet as soon as you have the puck on your stick, and keep your head up for passing options. Make time and take space in all your playmaking. Good luck. We're all counting on you.

A darn shame.

But still with the Olympic break he'll only miss a handful of games.

This. If Campoli plays like he is worth the 1st round pick we gave up for him, we'll be fine and that much better after the break when Karlsson is back.

Seems like Murray might make a move for a defenseman before the break now.

It's not that long, and we've still got Lee kicking around in the minors. Yet another reason why we shouldn't deal him before the break, as injuries can happen quickly.

Maybe I'm being hopefull here, but with Picard now likely being inserted into the lineup, hopefully this will improve Murray's chances of moving him at the deadline...

It would also allow for Lee to be called up and given some playing time...

I seriously hope they call up Lee.

So does Picard just slip in beside Kuba? Call up lee as 7th and him/Picard battle for that slot straight up? That's what I'd do at least.

I just hope it's not a separated shoulder. A sprain or something like that is fine, but a separation can become a recurring issue.
