Both guys looked naseaous when interviewed between periods and asked about the trade. Poor guys, lol. Hopefully they will stay positive. We may not make noise this year, but Atlanta has a good young core, we just need some size on the wings, and solid goaltending.

Congrats on Kovy's first game up there. I'm sure he was flying.
Yeah the Devils were awful for about 56 minutes of the game, but Kovy still managed to look pretty good. At then at the end, when the comeback was happening, he really turned it on. He was downright frightening.

yea i couldnt imagine how they mustve felt. i mean bergie im sure is happy because he was being relegated to constantly playing with pandolfo and niedermayer. putting someone like him as a defensive piece is a waste and his points took a nosedive. im sure that also helped kill the confidence too. oduya...i dunno, he must feel stung. he plays great last year, signs a good deal then struggles this year and then comes back to slowly finding his stride and gets moved. im sure its a kick in the nuts. im excited to see the numbers bergie will put up playing with antropov, kane, afinogenov(never thought id say that)...etc. and yea kovy looked good, but the devs are still in their month long slump and they didnt play very cohesively and looked to always pass to kovy....which is pretty counterproductive. aside from that, he looked good with zubrus and still skated hard. after a few practices with the team, elias coming back to center that line and the devs eventually ending their slump...itll be exciting for sure.

Thanks! If nothing else, having Kovy up there will help show the fans up there that he's a good team guy and a quality person. Waddell should have dealt him last year but DW has this complex that he has to couch things so that he looks like the "good guy" when he's just a crappy GM.

This is looking ominously like a GDT for tomorrow!

Just noticed he only had 12 and change, which is what he was given on the Devils most nights. I would have figured ATL would bump him up to 16. I expect that to happen.

Teams usually ease players into the lineup unless it is a superstar.

We spent a bit of time on the PK in the first, no pp time due to the team basically winging it all night on the pp. (and it looked damn good regardless of the lack of goals)

I figure once he gets a good practice in, we'll be fine

Even though they lost, that's the best, most complete game that the Thrashers have played since November. It's becoming a little disturbing that every goaltender they play is on fire (Miller, Nitty, Neuvirth), but hopefully that will change. Armstrong, Slater, Hainsey, Bogosian, and Valabik (until he got hurt) all played with a tremendous sense of purpose. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come.

Let's beat the Cats tomorrow night. A full team effort is exactly what this club needs, and long term. Now that it's not just the Kovy & Co. show, maybe we can get a true team effort, night in and night out.

I second this.
or any quotes from Bergie and Oduya about the trade? I can't seem to find any.

We don't make the opponents' goalies move in the crease at all.
