Just moved here...

Hey guys, I just moved here from Philadelphia and I'm living on Barham blvd right off the 101 in North Hollywood. I wasn't able to bring out all my hockey stuff but I brought enough to play some roller. I was wondering if any of you know where there might be some open roller hockey or an adult league that I might be able to get into (I'm probably a little late for that).

Thanks guys! Love the city and cant wait to get out to some Kings games to see my Zussss

Welcome to SoCal!

Toyota Training Center (where the Kings practice) has a roller surface and league.

I watched a History channel doc about gangs of Los Angeles before I got out here so I knew where to avoid and what colors to skip

You're a quick drive to Pickwick in Burbank, but I don't know if the have roller. They do have ice... you might want to check their website.

If you're anywhere near the Oakwood, watch out for budding young starlets. If you're interested in budding young starlets, head over to the LA Fitness on Cahuenga. That's all I got.

Welcome to the sprawl... it's all 20 minutes away.

I would call.

Their website sucks.

I would be shocked if they didn't have a weekend league

I live in Oakwood hehe... theres plenty of child actors here... most of them are 14 or 15 and all they do is hang out by the pool drunk / high... its kind of depressing.

That specific Oakwood is a unique place, to say the least.

I work in the tower over the hill (Universal), so let me know if you need dining options...

He is nowhere near gang territory, but it's fun watching you guys try and scare him. He should be more afraid of (hollywood) ********** and random wannabe mexican gangbangers than bloods or crips.

And if you need a reminder, the pizza in LA sucks so don't try and compare it to what you had back east.

Welcome to LA, and i also recommend Pickwick because it's a much closer commute.

Skip the roller and just have your ice gear UPS'd out here from Philly.

Roller, . . . jeez!

P.S. Enjoy L.A. and in the summer, as well as on sunday mornings, they play roller down at Santa Monica Beach parking lot

This is only true if you live in a rough neighborhood, I'd feel comfortable wearing any color outside of south central/bad parts of Long Beach.

Alright alright, I'm working on convincing my Parents to ship my hockey bag out... I'm going down to the Hockey Monkey superstore tomorrow before the super bowl to grab a couple sticks on the cheap... Is it too late to join a Men's league? Also, a friend told me to go to Culver City instead, hows that for Ice hockey?

Thanks so much guys! Great game tonight!

?? 40 is the new 20.

And if you're going down to Hockey Monkey today, make sure to stop by Hockey Giant (in Anaheim - boo!) as well. They just moved a to a new location, but you already have to drive past HG to get to HM.

Check their website for location.

i'm pretty sure there is a roller hockey rink in North Hollywood although I couldn't tell you where. I know they have ice hockey in Pasadena and Burbank. I'm pretty sure I have a friend that is playing roller in Culver City. A lot of roller hockey rinks have closed over the past 5-10 years so I'm not sure what is still open. I'm sure there is more out there than has been suggested so far. Give this thread a little more time and I'm sure you'll have some decent options.

EDIT: http://www.evymcahockey.com/league_i...formation.html

^ YMCA in North Hollywood has adult roller hockey leagues.
