They want offense.

Barker= worthless now.

Either Sharp + a bit, or Versteeg ++

Kaberle for Sharp and Buff

Kaberle for Versteeg,2nd,Buff (cap) and Aliu

Your original proposal was nice.

We want offensive depth though. No need to include Barker.

Buff
Bolland

Kaberle

Buff would be a good fit in Toronto but why acquire Kaberle? He's a great player but the Hawks have Keith and Campbell. Plus, dealing Bolland as one post suggested would leave the Hawks thin at center if Madden doesn't resign.

We would need a center in return. I think Bolland or Sharp would have to be included. We don't really need Barker.

he plays for a Divisonleading Team... not bad at all. Keith is a Vezina runner up and Hjalmarsson is the player who most improved this year on our D. Also Campbell plays well and get's attention for that. Seabs goes to Vancouver. Where is the Place for news?

Half of these counter proposals from leaf fans are ridiculous.

Look at what Kovy and Phaneuf got, and you think you're getting ALL that for Kaberle?

Kaberle for Sharp and Buff

Kaberle for Versteeg,2nd,Buff (cap) and Aliu
Byfuglien makes 3 million, 15 goals, 30 points
Versteeg makes 3 million, 20 goals, 50 points

The Leafs would be stupid to take both Versteeg and Byfuglien in a deal. I really don't mind a package revolving around Versteeg but the Hawks can keep Buff. 3 million for a 3rd liner that will give you 15 goals and 30 points a season doesn't seem like a smart move in my books. Versteeg gives you 20 goals and 50 points a season, if I'm going to spend 3 million on someone it's him.

I think if the Leafs did make a deal with the Hawks, Burke would probably want Kyle Beach as part of the deal. If the Hawks were willing to give up Beach I would be willing to take Buff off their hands.

Buff, Beach and draft pick for Kaberle

The re-appearance of AlMo, dude where have u been?

plus i agree with most of this, i could handle Versteeg + Beach for Kaberle; however i think thats fair value.

Funny how people just look over Ponikarovsky ..
It's not "ALL that for Kaberle". Ponikarovsky is a capable top six forward. He will get you around 20-25 goals a season and 50-60 points while also being a big body at 6'4 or 6'5.

I may not agree that that trade is fair for Chicago but you can't just say that you are giving up all of that for Kaberle because there were other good pieces involved as well other than Kabs

Last I checked, the Hawks are the team looking to dump salary. Do you think you're going to dump players and other teams are going to give the Hawks what they want?

Kaberle is by far the best player in this deal making well below market value right now, Poni puts up the same numbers as Sharp does and he'll be off the books at season's end, Dido is a decent prospect to add the organizations overall depth chart.

As a Leafs fan, I wouldn't take this . If I'm trading away Kaberle I would much rather get younger, cheaper talent. Sharp is a nice player to have but he isn't first line talent. Essentially we would be replacing Poni's production with a richer contract. Buff is a third line player making 3 million a season......no thanks! The Leafs would be stupid to add this contract to their books.

If Kabby is going to Chicago, I want a highly rated prospect back. There is no way the Leafs should be adding that much salary without getting any impact players up front. We are better off keeping Kaberle and signing a UFA this summer to help our offense.

I have been extremely busy with work since the summer plus the family equals very little time for HF

Some of these Chicago proposals I find kind of funny. Kabby is top 15 defencman in the league. I really do beleive that. If he played on a stanley cup calliber team, this guy would be a star.

He's getting paid only 4.25 mil for this season and next. And people think that they can get him for a 3mil 3rd liner and a 3 mil #3/4 defencman? Common, it will take more than that.

Dustin Byfuglien would be of interest to Burke I'm sure. I think Burke feels a 24 year old, power forward has the ability to still grow into his game.

He's on pace for over 200 hits also. Someone who also could slide to the point on the PP or be planted in front of the net.

If Burke has the opportunity to obtain him, I think he shows great interest. But at this point, I think Byfuglien is going to be a player Chicago wants going into the playoffs.
