Pacioretty not dominating in the AHL

I haven't seen any game yet, and won't be (at least if he isn't called up for next Wednesday game), but Pacioretty has only one goal, and an assist in 6 games in the AHL. A production similar to the one he had in the NHL this season.

He seems however to get a lot of shots per game... so I guess he will eventually find his game back.

Sending him back to the AHL was the best decision Gainey took this season. I just wish he had done that one before.

If you haven't seen any games, maybe you shouldn't be starting threads about someone's play, alright?

He really should have been there all year. And don't call him up to the Habs until he proves he's a good offensive player at the AHL level. He is only 21, no need to rush. He may need all of next year with the Bulldogs too.

And it was expected that it happened that way. The guy was pushed in a league he didn't belong. Now he had to learn how to play the game and deal with the fact that his NHL dream might be further than he thought it would. He thought it was easy with the development camp he had. They should have told him that it was "just" a development camp. We've seen a lot of stars in those camps that ended up falling ones....

He's not going to be in that camp 'cause at worst, he'd be a serviceable 3rd liner. But that's NOT what the plan was.

Well at least he admitted he hasn't seen him play. I hate when people bash a guy and have never seen them play a second.

On track with the thread, I wouldn't worry to much about Max Pac. He just needs to gain some confidence and find his game and he'll be fine. He's still a young guy and needs to sharpen his tool set.

That usually happens to people that get sent down. They start off slow and once they find their comfort zone, they start producing. Nothing really surprising.

Everyone here talk about things they don't know of. I don't know why it should be different for me.

Alright?

Its never easy going back down, its actually rare that a player goes from the NHL to AHL and dominates right away.

There's an adaptation period no matter what the caliber, mentally and physically

confidence...

it's the name of the game at any level. MaxPac clearly lost it here in montreal, so it's not all that surprising that it's followed him to the AHL.

he just needs to keep working hard, and it will come back. best case scenario is that he has a great playoffs, gets his confidence back and carries that with him to the offseason, works his butt off determined to make it work with the big club next year, comes into training camp and Takes a top 6 role from the get-go.

It baffles me everytime that people disrespect what confidence does to a player. Don't we have enough examples of that already? Good point Miller Time.

What would Montreal fans do if the team actually was winning? They would have nothing to complain about.

woa, a whole lot of dbaggin going on here.

im pretty sure the point of him making this thread is for him (i dont really see were he trashes, or criticies patches for not being ppg) is for people who do watch the Dogs to provide some more info, and possibly a debate of player pruduction, slumps and further development.

imo my 2 cents, patches is the type of player who will grow to be an involved player, screening, corners, 3d assits type of guy, and the 1 goal every 3 games or so on average.

I was watching the other night and he looked alright. Biggest thing with him is : he need to fill his frame and work on his balance, he's always flopping around.

I don't think we will see him again this year, maybe in the playoffs if we make it.

he was excellent at the start of the season with us (and the end of last season)

he clearly lost his confidence...

im saying that it could take another 10 games in ahl before he gets his ahl groove back...

he might also be a bit upset to be in ahl... that's a huge downer!

Lots of guys slump when going down, it takes a few weeks to settle into the AHL again and get used to things.

Kostitsyn did the same thing.

It's been 6 games but barely a week, we have to give him sometime
