Does that mean that revenue sharing goes up 2 million. IF that's the case that makes things a HELL of a lot easier to sign Hornqvist and maybe a defenseman at 3 million.

Could we afford someone like Jokinen or Marlaue? Cuz we are missing that one superstar on our team. Its all we need.

Jokinen aint that.

Marleau, maybe barley. But I don't think there's anyway we can afford him given our current contracts, upcoming contracts, and spending below the midpoint.

our superstars are Weber and Suter and Poile is planning on paying them like superstars when their current deals expire. So we cant afford Marleau, or anyone else that would command 5 million or more per year.

I dont see us ever signing a top tier UFA because in almost every case the competition for them means they get much more than they are truly worth and we do not have the budget to overpay to the extent it would take to land a "star" UFA

Poile is hoping and planning on Hornqvist and Wilson being our next homegrown superstars, much like Weber and Suter

This could be very big. I'd love to see us sign a guy like Volch on top of Hörnqvist.

Oh, please, by all means sign Jokinen. We'd love that up here in Columbus.

I would too but he's most likely going to Washington for around $5 million a season is what I've been reading.

I'd avoid Jokinen, everything I've heard about him is that he's a cancer in the lockeroom, and everything I've heard about the Preds is that your strength is that you've got a great team chemistry.

His scoring is not worth your team spirit, IMO.

If there is one guy I want this offseason, it is Spezza. I know we would have to get rid of one of SAD and at least Grebs, but I think I would feel better with Spezza as our top center and roll with something like. If we could somehow dump Arnott and Dumont, that would be enough to take Spezza's money for this season. I think it would be worth it if we can clear our some space.

Ottawa would almost certainly want a potential future top-6 center going back in any deal for Spezza. That basically means giving up Wilson, which would probably be a Bad Idea.

Jokinen isn't even a regular star, let alone a superstar. He's probably bound for Europe.

If we do in fact get an extra $2M to spend (which I assume we will), we need to use that money to get our own house in order before we try to bring in anyone new.

Oh...my...God.

I didn't know what you were talking about, so I looked it up on Youtube, which so helpfully provided it as the first suggestion, when you type in "Jason Spezza" it automatically suggests "Jason Spezza laugh"...which was a bad, bad sign.

Wow.

I'm curious about what next season's internal salary cap will be. Last season the team's spending cap was about $45mil. Is there any reason to expect the internal cap to rise substantially? I don't think the overall league increase (or not) in the salary cap will make much of a difference to Nashville's cap.
