Choose a location for the HF Oil Shinny game

I only got like one suggestion, so I googled more. I found 7 locations, it didn't give me the full address though. I can probably figure that out once a location is picked.

The voting for the date closes tomorrow, and as of right now it looks like the 20th is the best day.

I will keep this poll open until Thursday Feb 11th, in case the 13th gets a big push in votes in the last day.

For more information you can check out the site I found.

http://www.edmonton.ca/attractions_r...s-outdoor.aspx

It has times and a phone number.

The next question is do they require a certian level of equipment (helmets, ect), are they just drop in or do we have to book the rinks

I'm pretty sure Hawrelak and Victoria are no sticks/pucks.

I also talked to the guy at Spruce Avenue (~104 street-113/114 Ave). They're open 6 30-9 on weekdays and 12-5/6 30-9 on weekends.

It's a more central location that could cater to more people.

Well, I don't know. I don't even live in Edmonton so I have no clue where half those places are.

Rundle says they have a separate place for Shinny.

This needs to be at an outdoor rink. Most community leagues have them. You could just say North, South, East, West, Central or something to that effect. Then it could be narrowed down from there. I am familiar with Millwoods rinks but dont know enough about the other areas of the city. It should be somewhere with good ice and not too many people. Millhurst seems to fit the bill on most weeknights.

Someone build a backyard rink lol

Or better idea, who knows Daryl Katz number?

or even better, call klowe, and tell him we will forgive him for signing horcoff to that giant contract if he lets us play outside his house (of course we will actually not forgive him)

Well, if the 13th gets enough votes to take over as the favored day then we have less than a week to first narrow it down to North, South, East, West, Central, etc and then from there pick a spot.

There is the Spruce Avenue suggestion, the address is 10240 115 Avenue Northwest. He said it's fairly central.

Should we just go with that location?

Is it a hockey rink with boards, nets and a shack? If not then no.

Ask the guy who picked it, not me. I don't know, and I can't just drive over there and check.

On facebook one guy suggested Caernarvon Community League 14830 118 Street. He said he's been playing there lately...so it must be good.

Would any of you be interested in doing this as like an indoor drop-in shinny?

Here are some options... http://www.edmonton.ca/attractions_r...ny-hockey.aspx

EDIT: Wait, it says full equipment required. I remember some people saying they don't have full equipment.

Yarp, we should just keep this to bare minimums: stick and glove!

I can't comment on locations since I haven't played shinny before and have skated less times than I can count on one hand. Anyone else in the same position as I am??

I just found like over 100 locations on this site. Some of them require memberships. I might go through all of the "central" ones and see if I can find any that don't and then make a new poll.

Skated Castledowns last winter. No boards, but lots of ice.
