Jack Johnson to March on Behalf of the US Olympic Men's Hockey team

This is somewhat old news since we knew he was going.. what was news (to me at least) was that he is the ONLY one going, and he's the first ever US-born player on an active NHL roster to ever do it.

http://www.ctvolympics.ca/hockey/new...tml?cid=rsstsn

Brian Burke will not attend the ceremony due to his son's death, so Jack Johnson is the sole representative marching.

That is pretty cool. A big thing for Jack to be apart of.

Awesome. Thank you for finding and posting the schedule!

I'm so glad there are no games on Versus or NHL Network so I don't have to upgrade my TV package.... yet.

No On-the-Fly is killing me, but I can live without it. I could not and absolutely refuse to live without every single olympic hockey game.

The goaltenders of most of these teams are incredible. I'm also looking forward to seeing a lot of the KHL guys and the Forsberg and Palffy's of the world who have fallen off the NHL map. Not having to adjust for a time change should be cool as well. My question is can any of these guys just jump back into the NHL if they have huge Olympic numbers? And I can't believe Zubov was left off the Russian team-huge mistake.

I'll be going next week to six games.

If anybody here knows some cool spots in Vancouver to hit, i'm all ears.

I've been there about 10 times. Depends on what you think is cool as far as where and what to do. Lots of good restaurants on Burrard. The Roxy on Granville Street has an interesting crowd if you're looking for nightlife. And "a friend" told me about this place called The Swedish Touch if you need a massage. You also have Grouse Mountain for some good snowboarding or skiing via boat, bus and gondola. Best thing about Vancouver is being able to walk to so many things to do and there will be 24 hours of hockey coverage.

I added the full schedule for Men's Hockey to the first post along with the TV network it'll be on. The times are Pacific. It appears they've been mucking with the exact start times a bit as I've seen some discrepancies lately. The info is current as of today.

Just an FYI to you guys....this is a running "blog" as ESPN Los Angeles has a reporter with Jack and his family during this trip for the Opening Ceremony.

It was just updated again and three videos with Jack were added.

Can anybody tell me why Slovenia wasn't qualified for the Olympics? I know it's a small country.
