Bitter about his departure? You must mean arrival.

Yeah but the 1st and 2nd is now represented by Jiggy, so that's not half bad...

Toskala will try to fit in, although he did request jersey No. 35, Giguere's old number. He was denied for obvious reasons and will wear No. 36.
I love how the Ducks didn't want to tarnish number 35 with the skid mark that is Vesa Toskala...

Toskala did have a good first year and people were claiming he had the fastest glove hand and yet STILl complained when he stole victories for the leafs.

Yah Leafs fans wanted the team to tank because "omgz Tavares...omgz Taylor hall!!" until they realized we traded our first draft pick and now everyone is just pissed off. Seriously who ever expected the leafs to make the play offs this year is clearly stupid. Lets put a brand new team together and expect to win every game really?

This whole Toskala thing is the same as people are goign through with Gustavsson. He started off great then slowly he isn't do so great then fans start to complain about how they play. Fact is nothing will make fans happy until we actually start to win and be in a playoff spot. Fair enough but people shouldn't hvae such high expectations thats how people are going to get mad and start pointing fingers.

I'm not saying people are stupid here or whatever, people just exected way to much way to soon. Oh well

I think he has the right to show his frustration after he got traded to Ducks. But he can't really complain that the Leafs did not give him a chance to be the No. 1 goalie. We traded the 1st and 2nd round pick for him and had he ever steal one game for us? He did not show us what he's worth, so good luck to him if other team will sign him when he becomes UFA this coming July.

I dont see whats wrong with what he said. He pretty much ruined his career with his tenure with the Leafs. Why wouldn't he want to wash it out? What is there to be happy about looking back at his time with the Leafs?

Who's Vesa Toskala?

Seriously though, I don't mind the comment, but he should know he's there simply because his salary works that way to the Ducks' benefit, not because he was wanted by them. Hell, if a practice cone counted $4M against the cap, Anaheim would've traded for that instead.

I love reading the reactions on this board honestly. Just because he did crappy for your team automatically makes him the worst person in the world.

"omg i hope he fails at life" "what a ****ing bum"

You think any of these athletes really care about what the fans think? To them its just their job. How would you like it if a random person came into your place of employment and said you were awful at it.

He's not with Toronto anymore, let it go.

Pathetic.

The guy is gone, yet you still feel the need to throw dirt his way?

That piece of crap had the honor of wearing the greatest jersey in all of professional sport, and the privelege of having the greatest fans in all of professional sport watch him "play". The Leafs paid Vesa very well for his uninspired efforts, the least he could do is pretend to be a bit grateful for the time he was allowed to wear the Maple Leaf and for his fat pay day. Nothing about this guy is at all professional. Good riddance to that stinky dingleberry, I'm glad Burke finally wiped him out of our crease so to speak.

I don't dislike Vesa Toskala as a person for these comments or because he was a poor goalie, I dislike Vesa Toskala because he never really owned up to his poor play or glaring mistakes and always seemed to have an air of incomprehensible self-satisfaction.

He only ever was a team guy when it came to sharing the blame.

Someone should remind Toskala that Toronto gave him a chance to be a number one goalie and he failed nor did he play overall like he cared about getting that chance.
