They don't have the February practice schedule up yet, although the Preds' twitter did announce one last week. I'd say call down to the Sportsplex and ask there.

I remember reading in one of the blogs Saturday night, maybe POTG, that practice today would be at the Sommet Center...

Sorry that I don't know anything more official...

Up Next...

After a day off on Sunday, the Preds will practice at the Sommet Center on Monday. They will then fly out to snowy Long Island on Monday afternoon to begin their four game road trip to play the Islanders, Rangers, Devils and Pens that will wind up their pre-Olympic schedule.

Well, indeed the practice was at the BoB and closed to the public today, but Glennon is reporting that Goc is scheduled to return to the lineup tomorrow night against the Islanders and Belak, thankfully, has returned to the bench...

New lines from this morning's skate...

Sullivan - Arnott - Hornqvist
Smithson - Legwand - Ward
Dumont - O'Reilly - Erat
Jones - Goc - Tootoo

Barring injury, the balanced lineup I think will play to our advantage by being able to roll four lines throughout the 3 games in 4 nights to start this trip...

Arnott and O'Reilly center scoring lines, while Legwand's unit is back together after a one-game hiatus to serve as the checking line (look for them against Tavares) and Goc centers the two-way checking line that will hopefully bang some bodies and be able to generate some clock-eating cycles deep in the Islanders end of the rink to create some offense.

Question is, who does Shea have to drill with a slapper in practice for Colin to be brought up/inserted ?

Joking aside, I like these 4 lines very much.

Seriously though, speaking of Pekka shooting the puck, why is that a lot of other goaltenders in the league will pass the puck back to a player when it's cleared down to our end, yet Pekka and Ellis will only ever touch it behind the net and then leave it there. I've seen Pekka make a long pass when someone is open at center ice but it's only happened once or twice that I've seen, whereas other goaltenders do it a lot more. Anyone have any insight on this?

Maybe it's something Korn has taught them? Who knows. I know Ellis got a lot of his from Turco, but by no means does he do it as much as Turco. Personally, I like it. It prevents a lot of passes getting picked off and resulting back in our own net. It works, and it doesn't at times. But, I'd rather have it this way than Brodeur, Turco, DiPi, etc, etc.

I'm not too confident with either of them handling it like the best of them.

I am liking everyting about the new lines, although I would flop Goc and O'Reilly. Up until last game, O'Reilly has not done anything. Goc has proven he can contribute offfensively, and take care of his own end.
Still not sure why they have kept Cal, that he has to clear waivers, unless they are planning on putting him in a package at trade deadline!
