I'd love to actually see this top 6 together for an extended period without injuries . I think it's underestimated and one of the better top 6's in the league. We've only seen glimpses of it during the brief periods when most of it was healthy.

Well, it is a two-way street. You can't hang it all on the player if he leaves unless the team is offering market value. Like he said, there's been a phone call so far, they've not reached negotiation yet. But it does seem promising given his and Gauthier's comments, and I think Montreal has to re-sign Plekanec with the way he's played this year. No point in letting him go unless you think there's a better option, which I doubt there is.

any of these two deals, I say we make out like bandits, considering that a good center on the FA market would more likely be 5.5-6M forever or 7-7.5M for short term.
