Huddy hasnt played for the Kings in years. So I'm pretty sure you mean Hardy (aka Harpo -- Asst. Coach for the Defense).

While I'm with you on the replace Kompon train, Harpo should not be going anywhere!

Johnson's constant delay on getting his shot off is SO annoying, and then over half the time his shot isn't even on net. Similar with Stoll. I'd have these guys doings ladders for each missed shot. I don't mind setting the PP up for shots from the point and crashing the net, but the SHOT HAVE TO BE ON NET! Take a little power off for acccuracy, the rebounds will be easier to snare as well.

Overall, the boys didn't bring it last night, and as annoying as it is to lose to the Birds, its really only one loss.

So time to start a new streak Thursday night.

Go KINGS GO!!!

Stoll and Johnson's missed shots on the PP have to be the most annoying thing this season. Stoll in particular.

Not to mention I hate the ****ing umbrella PP. **** has got to go.

Only positive from last night was Getzlaf getting hurt. That's good for team USA.

Bingo. It was frustrating to see how many predictable passes were made to the point. Then when they decide to cycle the puck down low with the man-advantage, Smyth sets up Kopitar for the goal. Having a creative playmaker on the ice like a Mikko Koivu can really help this squad.

I was at the game last night. Must agree with most everything said in this tread.
Lots of Kings fans there, but the place still looked empty. The flying sheep was just weird. A coupon for furniture seems like an odd promotion. Now the Del Taco coupons were something I could use.

Kings just looked like they were playing at ĺ speed. This was really evident during the PK. I donít blame any one person. Maybe they went out and partied too much after the 9th win or maybe it was the change in time zones. I have told myself that it is just one game, but then I remember it was just one game vs the Ducks and get upset all over again

Our power play would be much more effective if Stoll and Johnson stopped missing the net on 80% of their point shots.

Johnson in particular has really struggled getting his shots on target in all situations. Isn't that supposed to be one of his strengths?

I wonder if Johnson is trying too hard to pick corners instead of just getting his shot ON goal.

I'd like to see Johnson shoot more, but go with the Kyle Quincy, low-middle, deflection-or-a-rebound shot.

Let Brown/Smyth/Handzus clean up the garbage. They LOVE that stuff.

I find Johnson's shots more frustrating. He takes forever to load it up and then fires it wide. Stoll gets his shot off faster, but wide.

9 times out of 10, he's just trying to kill it. The dude's got a freaking howitzer, but I don't think he understands the value of a Quincey shot over trying to murder everything in his path.

Yes, yes and god yes. It kills me every game!

Dude hesitates on the blueline and gets himself trapped against the boards constantly. Please Johnson, either take your time and find a real passing lane and actually, um, you know, put that pass on the stick and not in the skates, OR, just pick your damn shot and shoot it already. I don't understand the hesitation, but I have to hope the coaches are working on that specifically with him. He needs to treat it more like a hot potato.

Johnson takes winder to wind up than Phillip Boucher in the late 90's.

Babes... dudes.. it makes no difference. They can be headshots or fully clothed and they can be posted in the OT thread. Posting them in a PGT? Not a good idea.

If people want sexy pick avatars made they can PM JDM with the headshot pics they want.

Meh...Ducks needed it way more than we did. Kings didn't really show up for the full 60 minutes tonight and the Perry goal was kind of a back-breaker. Thank god Scuderi wasn't injured and it was only the flu. If Getzlaf is out long term than the Ducks can say goodbye to any chance they had at making the playoffs.

Kings weren't going to win every game but if they lose Thursday night against the Oilers who will be playing the Ducks the night before I am going to be pissed.

The Kings PP is just fundamentally bad, there were a couple of different occasions last night the Kings had 4 guys above the faceoff dots with only Smyth in front of the goal.

The Kings PP would be better if they truly had an elite sniper to blast those one-timers, but Stoll and Kopitar are just not shooters on the PP.

The Kings very rarely ever set-up behind or off to the side of the net, the main strength of a PP is outnumbering your opponents, and the Kings don't seem to try and do that down low, if they tried to set-up down low maybe the points would open up more. The Kings seem to be trying to force a square peg through a circle with these constant point shots.

Its one loss. To one team who in all reality means nothing to us as far as this season goes. I think after 9 straight wins we can allow the boys to have a let down.

But tonight they WERE lazy and very nonchalant with everything that they did. Got beat to loose pucks, out-worked in the corners, reaching and waving instead of skating.. It was ugly.

By the way in defense to Jack Johnson.. He's ALWAYS paired with the worst defenseman that we have. Whether its Drewiske, Jones, or Harrold. Thats a big factor in why his +/- is so bad. When he plays with Doughty he's perfectly fine. Johnson has sick skill and I hope the Kings keep him.

Drewiske sucks. Parse isn't that good either. Frolov had a nice play on the first goal but other than that I have yet to see this guy work hard for 60 minutes within the last... say... 3 months?

ALSO, I need a sexy pick avatar.. Gotta get on this bandwagon.

Kopitar can snipe.. The PP was bad last night, but I don't think its been bad overall. We get shots through and a fair amount of chances.. We just gotta be hungrier, and gotta want it more.

Like many have said, they were tired. Ducks came out to play while we just had an off night. Quick really showed fatigue(and yet still played like a #1) and I really expect Ersberg to start against the worst team in the league. Let's hope Kings does not take this next game easily still though.

GO KINGS GO!!

I was thinking about his pairings the other night. There are two sides to the coin, and the question is worth raising, why has Murray never been able to find Jack a steady D partner? Injuries are one reason, but despite injuries, Jack has never been able to settle in with a partner like DOughty-OD, Doughty-Scuds, OD-Greene, Drewiske-Greene have been. I don't think injuries to Drewiske/Greene/Jones throughout the season are reason enough for Jack to always have roaming partners. There is something in Jack's game that makes him hard to pair up... I just don't know what that is. Not coming down on Jack really, just wondering, maybe someone else with more specific defensive knowledge than I can provide some insight.

Last night he did. But he wasn't Jones "I have no idea where I'm supposed to be on this big white surface I'm gliding on" kind of crap. He was clearly one-step behind, out-of-game-shape rusty. It was the wrong game to put him back on D, with the streak and Harrold's play lately. I fully expect Whiskey to return to form in a matter of 2-3 games.

the umbrella is an awesome setup dont blame it on that...our players just can't hit the net. it only works if you get the shots through
