2010 NHL Premiere Games
The NHL has announced that they are opening the season overseas again. This time in 3 cities...
The Carolina Hurricanes and Minnesota Wild will play two regular-season games against each other in Helsinki, Finland.
The Columbus Blue Jackets and San Jose Sharks will square off for two games in Stockholm, Sweden.
The Boston Bruins and Phoenix Coyotes will play each other in Prague, Czech Republic.
I understand bringing the game to an international audience but I'm surprised that they didn't include the Thrashers. I'd imagine the NHL must subsidize the travel/expense for the teams and this would be a chance to take away a sparsely attended game at Philips Arena.
