One of the most complete efforts of the season out of the team. Vokoun was on fire until the Pitkanen goal, after that he just looked shaky out there.

Ruutu was not himself out there. His shoulder mobility isn't quite there and some plays that he normally would make he flat out wasn't capable of making. He also wasn't playing anywhere near as physical as he had been before the injury, but I'm sure that's just temporary until he gets his confidence back.

Defensively that was probably the best game of the season out of Ward. Gleason was damn solid out there. You can prettymuch invent the Tim Gleason hat trick at this point: A point, A fight and a puck to the face.

I do love beating the Kitty Cats. And although I'm not a guy, but I felt pain for Legace taking a stick to the nads, owwwwww. Poor guy.

We get a FINN hat trick on the night its announced we open in Finland next year. Think they are a bit excited I thought Pitkanen had a real strong game. And the chemistry between him and the Juice continues to hit. How they find each other in some instances is beyond me.

Over 18K for a Tuesday night against Florida. It can't be b/c of Ruutu bobblehead, could it

As an avid Gleason fan..... let's not please. I think he has enough stitches for the season.

Gleason must have a magnet in his face for pucks. I think he is even used to it by now. The puck nails him in the face, he dropped his stick and gloves in disgust and goes right to the lockerroom. Doesn't even faze him anymore. I can only imagine what he was saying

That plus they let all the ticket holders that missed out going to the Chicago game trade them in.

LOL! They took both of Pitkanen's assists away from him. He's now only credited with a goal. They gave one to Kostopoulos and one to Cullen.

Wait, why was Rex Ryan at a Canes/Panthers game in Raleigh? That's totally random. I see that he grew up in Toronto...but if he wanted to see hockey there are tons of other (better) options.

I was at the game tonight, they cut to Ryan on the jumbotron and gave him a Hurricanes jersey...he took the Flyers one off and put the Canes one on and everyone cheered.

I know I shouldn't be thinking like this, but I can't help it. It's too tempting to see us 10 points back from the mix, especially with the way we've been playing and the way some of those above us have been playing.

23 games, 10 points. It's doable. It's not probable, but it's doable.

Staal seemed to be running at half speed most of the night. Any word on his condition?

According to these folks, the Canes have about a 1% chance.

The real problem is not the points gap but that there are so many teams above us and they play one another over and over. In order for a couple teams in the pack to lose enough for us to pass them, some of the other teams in the pack are going to have to beat them (thus making them uncatchable for the Canes).

That said, 21 more wins gets us to 93 points which would be right around the cut. What is the best 23 game stretch in franchise history?

In order for the Hurricanes to make the playoffs, they basically need the teams in the logjam ahead of them to trade games so nobody can make progress. Naturally, there needs to be no 3-point games.

We don't have chance for playoffs. First of all, we will trade Whitney and Cullen very soon. I think we will trade Corvo too. There's a little chance to see A. Ward, Yelle and Samsonov go too. Wardo has a serious injury.

0 % chance.

Playoffs?

Pardon my ignorance, but who exactly is this guy?

Living in the great white North I've never heard of him.

I thought it was harmless, then again I'm a Panthers fan and I could care less about the Jets and who their coach is.

EDIT: the real Panthers, not the Florida version.

Is it bad to laugh that we may have broken the Panthers

“It is brutal,’’ Randy Sexton spat after Tuesday’s 3-1 loss to the Hurricanes at RBC Center.

“It was [expletive] brutal. We have too many guys who don’t compete. You can’t win in this game unless you’re ready to show up and go to war every night. We don’t have enough of them. .-.-. This is not type of team we want. We’re going to keep making changes until we get that. It takes time.
