Pittsburgh-Nashville

To Pittsburgh: J.P. Dumont
3rd round pick '10

To Nashville: Tyler Kennedy
2nd Round pick '10

Pens pick up a winger who has produced at a high level in Nashville and has had solid tours of duty in the postseason (4 goals in 5 games in '07, 30 points in 42 career playoff games). Would be solid on Crosby or Malkin's wing.

Nashville gets a great energy player who fits their defensive system well and has a bit of a nose for the net. Adds a bit of youth to Nashville's forward corps.

I believe that Pittsburgh would have to dump a bit of salary to fit this deal. Don't know who'd that'd be, figured some Pens fans could give me some input.

Well?

Nope.

Kennedy is a huge part of the Penguins' best line. Moving him isn't out of the question, but it is for JP Dumont.

The cap is why this deal won't happen. Kennedy is practically untouchable due to his awesome cap hit.

Can't see Preds fans being real happy with this deal either. Pens can't do it because of the cap.

Dumont was Nashville's leading scorer last year and the year before that, and he's tied for point leader this year too. Why would we trade him?

Was that report about Trotz being unhappy with him bunk? I was under the impression he was being shopped.

I believe Dumont has a NTC, or a NMC, so he's not moving.

He responded by scoring 2 goals in the next game.

Either way, he has a NMC and 3 kids\a wife that love Nashville. I don't see him being asked to waive it, and even then, I'm not sure he's eager to pull up roots and move.

Ah, alright. I've been a big fan of Dumont's since he played in Buffalo.

Non-starter then. My bad.

Poile laughs into the phone and hangs up. Not even close.

It would be more like this if we are talking about value
Dumont
for
Kennedy + 1st

But as stated, Pens can't take on that kind of salary, so the discussion is pointless.

And I can't see Nashville wanting a guy that has been pretty banged up this year, and whose status always seems up in the air.

Not a huge fan of Dumont despite the obvious value. I wouldn't trade Kennedy for him.
