Man, I'm eastern PA, and we're right on the cusp of that nasty 18-24 blackhole. I hope it misses us!

Accuweather says that there's the potential for another storm Monday night into Tuesday...

I still have to go whether or not we get 1 inch or 100 inches of snow

Luckily i'm just off today regardless if we had the storm or not.

strange seeing that WWP Alum, Blunenote...I forget, when did hockey begin there? I graduated in '87 and don't remember having a hockey team. I know you and I went over this a while ago, but I'm still not any brighter so I can't recall.

Good storm - allows me to wear jeans to work for a change - I can do that all year-round.

I just came here to post this. I'm leaving for the Great White North on Monday. It'll be interesting if that trip turns out to be an escape from crazy winter weather...

You know what's fun? Standing in two and half feet of snow, in blizzard conditions, knocking the snow off your power lines with a broom! After a few minutes I said 'screw it', primed my leaf-blower and blew the snow off the trees near the lines. Didn't really think about all that snow blowing back in my face with the heavy winds...

So how much snow did we get in the city? It really seems like we didn't get nearly as much as was predicted.

It never does seem as much as predicted in the city because of heat island.

But, the city got around 11-14 inches. The final totals will be posted up tomorrow after every single flake falls.

I wonder how the roads will be tomorrow morning. I'm considering taking a day off since I work up by White Plains. Not the best 27mile drive if roads are all slippery and icy...

Wow, I don't even have a ****ing delay.

It took me so long to get home from the game last night. The trains didn't go express, and were on the Uptown Local track, so when I heard one coming I ran to where it would normally be, and had to wind up waiting another 1/2 hour.

We got maybe 6 or 7 inches where I live. I work about 10 miles east of where I live, they got maybe 2 inches. In some places I can see blades of grass sticking out from the snow.

I ended up shoveling and cleaning my car last night around 6pm or so. I woke up today for work, saw my car completely snowed in, and just went back to sleep. Too much wind!

Another 6-12 inches?

They have been pretty accurate for the past 2 storms. They do note though that those will be the totals if the storm hits it's max potential. So if the storm is a Jessiman, it will be sunny and in the high 70's.

Well played.

I think that's going to be my new term for all major disappointments.

As for the last storm... we ended up with 14-15 inches here, so 12-18 was pretty accurate.

Something I caught while reading a blog on Accuweather:

Quote:
The bigger event which has people really excited comes around the 22nd to the 24th of the month. The GFS has shown some type of big storm around that time and now the Euro 216 hour has another powerful blizzard sitting off New Jersey. My take on all this is the pattern is loading up for the grand finale. The snowy pattern seems to last for about 4-5 weeks before breaking and by the end of the month, we should be at the end of the cycle. It will take a huge storm to change the pattern or you can argue the huge storm is a result of the pattern changing. Which ever, the end of the month storm could be the finale of the winter.
Can any of our meteorologists comment?
