Likely a rental. Whitney or Kozlov I would wager.

I'm thinking Whitney. I knew it was fishy from when they waived Segal.

So is Eklund's dancing monkey still tooting his own horn about the Clune call up and his inside sources?

I thought Clune was coming to the big club? Strange. So a trade is going down, eh....

Clune to Ontario just keeps Lombardi's options open, if he assigns him to Manchester he'd have to fly all the way back to the northeast which is getting pounded by bad weather.

Kozlov was a healthy scratch for their game today... Makes you wonder.

True...but, he has been scratched by ATL many times before. It's obvious it could happen, so who knows.

If DL gives up a 1st for Whitney, and that comes with a year extension for Whitney, and Whitney keeps producing at his pace, along with giving that extra important presence in the playoffs, both for the on ice and locker room aspects, isn't worth a mid-late 1st at this stage in the game?

I think it can be. If Whitney scores another 15-20 points for the season, which he easily can, and adds another 3-5 per playoff round, I think that is worth it for the development of the team. Forgive me for not particularly caring for a prospect to be named later. If Whitney is a rental, then a 1st would be insane, but for another year? And two playoff runs? That experience he can pass down is invaluable. Smyth is great, OD is great, Scuderi is great for that sort of thing, but its not like adding Whitney would be saturating the team with vets or anything.

We have loads of prosepcts.

Dreger pegs us for Whitney. Asking price is 1st round pick + prospect. Moller + 1st? Scary. Purcell + 1st for Resigned Whitney? Probably livable.

Carolina's Ray Whitney remains a prime target for the Los Angeles Kings. The Pittsburgh Penguins have also shown interest but it's unlikely the Pens will meet the Hurricanes' asking price of a first-round draft pick and a prospect.

Hell no to Moller.

Maybe Teubert, but that's the best prospect they can have.

Prefer to give them Cliche or Elkins or something.

I wonder if they want a F or D. Its not like Dreger said they wanted a blue chip prospect (not that Teubert is a blue chip prospect anymore). Only don't want to give up Teubert yet is because he's unique to the system.

I'm thinking not too many other teams are really coveting Teubert at this point. I'd much rather give him up than our first this year.

I would give up a first for a signed Whitney. I couldn't give a **** about first rounders anymore even if we are hosting. Whitney is still an impact player and that's what we need.

1 year extension MAX, the 3 years talk is nonsense.

I could stomach 2 though it depends on the salary.

I MIGHT even be able to stomach 3, so long as the last year is near league minimum in salary.

Its not a big deal to buy him out in the last year or two if he retires or starts to drag major ass.

Tuebert plus a second or third round pick is fair price. The guy can still score and if he fits in well, then sign him to 1 yr. extension. I just hope DL doesn't go crazy and overpay just because we're loaded with prospects.
