Roster vs Washington

It appears we have exactly 20 players available for Wednesday's game against Washington. how would you suggest putting them together?

Here is my set of line combinations based on the current roster:

S.Kost-Gomez-Gionta
Darche-Plekanec-Desharnais
Moen-Pyatt-Lapierre
Maxwell-Metropolit-D'Agostini

Markov-O'Byrne
Hamrlik-Spacek
Gill-Gorges

Same Top 6 and bottom 6 I had, matched slightly differently.

I have no problem with your top two line combos, but on the bottom 6 I prefer having 2 lines each with 2 guys over 6 ft tall. I would rather separate Metro and Pyatt and give Pyatt a bigger winger to play with, while playing him at Center where speed is relatively more important and size less.

I wouldn't be shocked to see;

SK - Gomez - Gionta
Darche - Plekanec - Metro
Moen - Lapierre - Pyatt
Maxwell - Desharnais - D'Agostini

I'd try

Darche-Gomez-Gionta
Desh-Plekanec-SKost
Pyatt-Lapierre-Moen
Maxwell-Metro-D'Ago

There must be more players coming from somewhere? Why were Trotter and White sent down? They played great against Pitt.

Hmmmm.....I wonder if this team is going to suffer anymore injuries before Wednesday. Man, this is getting bad.

Keep Pleks and Sergei together, keep Gionta and Gomez together and keep Moen off the top 2 lines.

darche pleks sergei
metro gomez gionta
pyatt desharnais maxwell
moen lapierre dagostini

thats horrible!

i want to put desharnais on the top 6 but, IMO, cant put him with pleks and sergei because we would have 3 passers and no scorers on that line, and putting desharnais with gomez and gionta would really be the official midget line on the nhl...

so ya not much to work with here...

I truly do not understand how anyone can be fine with those lines..really pathetic. Who the hell thinks Tom " No Points in 19 games" Pyatt can do a better job on the second line than Brock Trotter??

or Desharnais

Great idea, take a talented offensive undersized call-up and put him on the 3rd line...... and put a grittier with 1 / 5th the talent and put him on the 2nd

That would be the softest 4th line in the league.

Maybe the idea is to use the Gomez line with speed at all three forward positions against Ovechkin, and then hope that the Plekanec line will provide the offense.

Pyatt is somewhat out of place imo but, in the current context, it is not bad.

Regarding the decision to carry a 20 players' roster... it's weird! I expect a call-up today.

can't wait for ak to be back..

ak - plek - sk
darch - gomez - gionta
laps - metro - moen
pyatt - desh - max

btw, it's funny how the 3rd line is full of centers (Maxim Lapierre - Ben Maxwell - David Desharnais).

I'd rather try useless D'Agostini with Gomez and Gionta as he at least has the potential to do some offensively unlike Pyatt.
