Pots with a bad penalty. What if he had kicked it away instead of using his stick. Is it still a penalty?

Tough break for Pots. He probably thought it was broken.

I think so... i think it was more the force that he did it with... its one thing to move it out of the way, but he was really trying to clear it out of there

So if the opposing team drops equipment anywhere they want on the ice, it is a penalty to move it when the player skates away.....

New strategy - just drop equipment everywhere around your goalie........

I personally think it was a chintzy penalty. Especially, with the stick owner being no where near the stick.

Is someone going to destroy Handzus tonight? I mean really. It would make me so happy.

OT: I believe not taking Stamkos as extra forward is a big mistake. Outside of Heatley, Team Canada just does not have anyone that possesses the shot (be it wrister or slap shot) that Stamkos has.

The last 10 games or so the Kings have been having boring/bad first periods.

I also would have taken Stamkos... for the exact reason you mentioned.

Stamkos is deadly on the PP... he could just play PP and i think it would be worth it.
And we need that guy who can beet a goalie from that far out on the PP.

Edit: That lion is so kickass.

Yep. Now I know most teams do not have a sniper in the caliber of Heatley or Stamkos. But the Russians have two (Semin and Ovechkin) and a darkhorse (IMO) in Radulov. If the Canadians have a shot at competing with the Russians offensively, they need Stamkos' shot.

How about because of all that, and the fact this kid is going to be a go to offensive leader for Canada for like the next 15 years?

I believe Quinn is in Vancouver for the Olympics.
