Sweden vs Russia - Lundqvuist in goal

This is his big chance to show the world what he has.

1-0 Sweden right now.

Lundqvuist stoned Yashin on the PP and then stopped Ovechkin on a breakaway.

Good game by Lundqvist. Didn`t really have a chance on any of the goals. The management better sign him and bring him over for a look! Looking very good so far in the WC

And both Kovalchuk's goals were "highlight reel goals"..... hey, if Henrik's gonna give up a few, nice to hear they were not garbage.

I have been really excited about this kid for some time now. I hope he comes to North America next year because it looks like he can hold his own against NHL pros.
This tournament can really put him on the map, you have to think that team Sweeden is confident with him between the pipes after the win against powerhouse Russia. Not bad for a 7th rounder who just turned 22!

The way that Lundqvist has played the last 2 years, he could contend for the starters job in NY or at least get half the games. He is solid and just keeps getting better. Sather, get him signed and over here!!! The longer you wait, the better his numbers will get and the more you will have to fork over in coin!!!

Here is an article from a newspaper in Sweden about Lundqvist and the Rangers. Unfortunately I can't read it, but maybe Brooklyn Ranger or someone else can translate or recap what is being said.

http://www.aftonbladet.se/vss/sport/...468071,00.html

On another message board, they said that negotiations continue and that Lundqvist wouldn't mind spending the year in the AHL. But since I can't translate myself, I am not sure. They also said that this newspaper is not the most reliable source of info, sorta like LB and the Post

I`ll do my best:

The article states that negotiations are going on between the Rangers and Henrik`s agent. Lundqvist also says he`s eager to get over to NA. It seems like he really wants it "Hopefully everything will be sorted out after the WC". The Rangers haven`t offered him a contract yet, but they have stated several times that they do want to bring Lundqvist over the Atlantic and he expects them to reach an agreement soon. Also...Lundqvist knows he probably have to spend a year or two in the AHL before he`s NHL ready...so the possible lockout doesn`t bother him much.

That`s basically what the article said. Seems like we might just have ourselves a new goalie soon!
