I have the feeling that Hamrlik is next one out of MTL...and he's going to LA.

UFA vs UFA....

Or Moore + ? to LA, that's also a possibility

well thank ****ing god for that

i smell another move or 2, gauthier is shaking things up, he has to win over the fans, he knows what we want, gainey had his 70's as a hab to back him up, gauthiers got nothin, he's shaking things up I like it

if max gets delt, it sucks, but hes not earning that spot, moore might actually do good if hes not pressured to be a top 6 player like most teams tried, i think as a 3rd liner, hes pretty solid... just keep him off the top 6

You guys are nuts, Moore will help us tremendously. 2nd round pick is a bit much but whatever, he makes us better defensively and with faceoffs.

We better be getting Frolov for Weber and D'Agostini now.

Hamrlik is a UFA Next year.. thats why the deal would make sense. Dump some cash for Pleks

This is like going to the bar...having beer goggles on, thinking you're going home with the hot chick (frolov) wake up the next morning and see its really a beast (Moore)....everyone was building up for a trade that would significantly help MTL...we get Moore for 20 games for a 2nd...

Did we trade a future Cory Urquhart or a Subban for him?

I'm neutral about this trade...Dominic Moore has decent size and is really fast; something Jacques Martin cares alot about. He can be good paired with the right players (see Jason Blake). In his time in Toronto he showed some offensive talent and was good on the PK. In Florida he averaged 2 minutes a game in that kind of situation and saw little PP time. The thing I don't like about this deal is that he's a UFA at the end of the year and I feel a 2nd round pick for a player of his style is an overpayment but hopefully we trade Metropolit or Mara now to atleast get a 3rd pick.

Good low risk, high potential trade.
Is this bizarro world? MOORE IS A SCRUB, high potential? He's not worth a 2nd round pick, not in 2011, not in 2012 and not in 2013. He's only worth a 2nd rounder because management fkn sucks.

He's a very decent 3rd-liner. Though the price seems hefty. But we tend to overvalue picks and it's supposed to be a weak draft.

I get the sense this is a positioning move, however.

As long as the Habs keep their next few first rounders, I couldn't care less. Welcome to Montreal Moore!

I don't see why L.A. would sell Frolov for two players that will not help them right away. They are very close from being a cup contender and they need to improve their defense...

Could it be one of the goalies ?

Yes, it is killing me too.

Relax. It's a 2nd round pick in 2011 which was probably gonna be a US college bust anyway.

Honestly, everyone has to go on hockeydatabase.com and check out how rare a 2nd round draft pick (in a weak draft, like 2011) makes an impact in the NHL. Seriously go look.

Decent pickup. He'll help our depth and secondary scoring. We give up a 2nd yes, but in a draft class so bad it is being compared to 1999.

I can't believe that I'm out of town this weekend and will be missing both games with Subban and now Moore. Always fun to watch first games for new players.

Edit: Moore might also be a back-up plan in case we can't re-sign Plekanec.
